Seeing all the mentions of Jinder’s reign brings a happy tear to my eye. First time I really cared about the WWE Championship in YEARS. Also thought his matches with AJ were among the best both have had in WWE. I've discussed Jinder's reign a good bit on here. I was very much on board with it, initially. It was a legitimately shocking moment to me - a rarity in modern WWE, and I was intrigued to see how it'd play out. But his booking was f***ing putrid, and his moveset was: punch, kick, Khallas. The writing team did absolutely everything wrong and as poorly as possible. He started improving in-ring towards the end of the reign, and he's decent now, but nobody notices because he's been getting squashed/pulling Main Event duty.

I’ve mentioned it before, but I really hate how they had him revert to the Man Of Peace gimmick he had before he went to SmackDown to begin with.

Fake Undertaker in the early 90s. I loved that kind of stuff.
As an aside for the Jinder talk, Jinder would have been so much better as a HARD WORK PAYS OFF AND ANYONE CAN LIVE THE DREAM babyface like that incredible puffpiece workout video he had. He's nothing special in the ring but hell we've had a good number of champions that fit that bill. His shit racist character was what held me back from liking it. And no, not in a heel heat way.

It's like they're punishing the guy for not having a successful reign, even though they're the ones who put him in an absolutely unwinnable situation.

What's the general opinion on The Spirit Squad? They were really entertaining to me, even as DX 2.0 fodder.

I don't know how many listened to his podcast interviews but the dude knows how to say the right things and came off as the most humble and likable dude. Straight up mega-face stuff. The character he ended up with wasn't his idea, he had a different view for it but Vince at the last minute was all CRAZY PASSPORT PAL and that was that. Jinder later claimed that he was given free reign to promo how he wanted and saw fit to do the ugly racist claims, and as we know that killed the character dead for a lot of people. Just a series of bad ideas with wasted potential.

nWo from February 2002 - March 2002.
Hogan, Hall and Nash. I just couldn't stop marking out at the original nWo in the WWF. When Hogan left, then it became pathetic, but before that it was awesome seeing WCW guys in that position.
Nice finisher, can't wait to kick out of it!

The Reign of terror.
It established the new WHC as a must-have and prestigious award. It ended up being more important than the WWE championship for a while.

Said it before, 18 seconds. Beautifully played righteous heel comeuppance.

Orton/Hunter. They had my favourite match at Mania that year.

All of the Psycho Orton stuff. The punt to Vince, IED, Legcay, HHHs home invasion, the iron man match with Cena, all that stuff.
Echo Miz's MITB rise/title reign.
Heel DX return in 99.
MInistey of Darkness ish.
The Invasions fun to look back on.

While I also dislike the character regression, I actually love this gimmick on MMC with Alicia.

The two Kane. I kept reading wrestling journalists crapping on it but I don't know why I just loves over-the-top melodramatic special effect angles like these. Wrestling should have more of that and it was especially perfect for Kane given he was almost like a supernatural character. Sort of like a mix of 80s WWF spectacle, LU and Kevin Sullivan at his cult zenith. It was a let down for me when they scrapped the angle.

The Torrie Wilson/Al Wilson/Dawn Marie saga. Total trash, but in the best way.
The funeral scenes alone are peak unintentional comedy.

The McMahon-Helmsley Era...like I never understood why (at least at first) Hunter and Stephanie were the heels coming out of Armageddon '99. Vince got exactly what he deserved. I remember a lot of my friends hating that whole storyline but honestly, Evil and in love Hunter and Stephanie was my favorite thing at that time.
I really miss the straight up bad soap opera storylines. Like when I'd heard one of the OG plans if Seth hadn't gotten hurt was that he was going have been having an affair with Steph the whole time I was disappointed cause I would have been down for it.

Bray corrupting Bryan into joining the Wyatt Family was a great idea, and could've been the best storyline either of them's done if smark backlash didn't get the whole thing dumped a week later.

Ministry of Darkness Taker. It was some of his worst matches ever but him legit trying to sacrifice people was awesome.
Shawn Michaels becoming JBL’s personal monkey. I’m one of the few that enjoys the simpsons’ “Homer vs Dignity” episode, and the wwe just recreated it. It had Shawn saying that he was broke and that he didn’t wanted to end up like Jimmy Snuka. Shawn legit cried after JBL told him that he was his property. Shawn then cried some more when JBL told him that he was going to make Shawn dress up as a monkey and dance outside a restaurant. Finally when Shawn won his liberty he yelled at JBL that he wasn’t his monkey anymore.
