Question for the Game of Thrones book readers. Ho many of y'all have given up on him finishing the 6th book? I never even read the books (only know a little bit from reading synopsis but obviously watched the show) and I feel for y'all waiting for him to wrap that up

He ain’t finishing the damn books.
Darn you George!
Nightflyers does look neat though.
Wouldn’t mind seeing more of his sci fi stuff get produced. It is really good.

I think we’ll eventually get Winds. But I don’t think he’ll ever finish the series.

I'm workin on it! Oh wait, you weren't talking to me haha. To be fair to him, the Wild Cards stuff this is based on is long written. I stand by my belief he's really feeling the pressure of expectations with Thrones now. There's nothing he can do that will satisfy everyone. That can't be a fun creative headspace to be in.

My man is too busy at the club to finish some stinking book
Hell, I would be too, so I don't blame him.

Glad to see Wild Cards getting some attention. For me it is the best stuff GRRM has done. Tried out Game of Thrones, the books and tv show, and well they ain't for me. The book read like a sexed up LotR. And I really really dislike LotR. The show...I watched 4 episodes and was bored.

I have concluded that the end of the series is the only end of the GOT universe we're ever gonna see

Jesus Christ. Give your notes to someone else to finish the books, retain final say on the published edition, move on. You aren’t going to do it yourself so lend some legitimacy to someone who will.

Honestly, working on something else might actually be more productive on getting him to finish the books than just slamming his head into the project over and over again, especially since he is like the epitome of "perfect is the enemy of good".
Unless there's some season pass I don't know about, none of us paid for the last books yet, soooo, he's not wronging anybody here.

And while you're not wrong and nobody is saying he shouldn't earn his money people are still frustrated and there is nothing wrong with that either in voicing your displeasure

I have concluded that the end of the series is the only end of the GOT universe we're ever gonna see Probably best chance we will hear to the book ending is what the creators of the show will say
I believe they had GRRM tell them the ending of the story in case something happened to him so while it wouldn't be the exact story, they would probably let that secret out if something did happen to GRRM

The show is a remarkable adaptation of his work and one of the best television productions of all time With that said the books are a radically different experience, which is fine as they are constrained by neither length or budget. As a fan I’d like to have a conclusion to both mediums. GMM doesn’t want to write it himself, he should find someone who does and supervise. As it is his attitude seems to be a hard middle finger and a #getalife, which I just don’t understand.

I stress his attitude seems to be a hard middle finger and a #getalife, which a don’t understand. Right. Even if the TV show and book had the exact same ending (which I doubt but it will probably be similar) they take different paths of getting there. People expected certain things to happen in the book that got put into the TV show like the obvious Jon Snow not being dead and living to meet Danny
I've wanted to get into the books since watching the show but more so keep waiting until it was either finished or whenever he came out with WoW
As I said i've read synopsis and know of characters that didn't get put into the show like Lady Stoneheart and the such but I def want to read the books to get a different sense of the story. It's the same way with the Walking Dead where I had already read the comic and was excited for the TV show when season 1 was announced and while they've adapted the show it's not the exact same but follow the same plotlines which is good.

Certainly, but I mean, I am a Berserk fan. I know a thing or two about waiting, myself.

Certainly, but I mean, I am a Berserk fan. I know a thing or two about waiting, myself. Yea, Berserk takes a 2 year hiatus after every volume. Still something I got to read from the beginning since i've caught the story at diff parts and not from the beginning
I've lost interest in Black Lagoon because of the hiatus it has been on tho they did release a few chapters this year
