I mean everyone assumed it was a worked shoot and tore them to pieces. But judging by the spoilers, He seems to be gone for at least 4 months (or however long two different TV takings stretch out to).
what’s his deal? Is he really gone? Or is he gonna pull an angry disgruntled worked shoot return?

Based on his tweets, I think he's legit gone. He's spent the last few weeks screen grabbing negative comments made about him and tweeting them out and the only tweet he made to anyone in TNA (that seems to be deleted now) was telling them to inform the arena to stop advertising him in things they were tweeting out about the tapings this week.

Hopefully he's f***ed off for good. The product is better off without him, and Moose and Killer Kross are shining right now.

It’s a work. Callis is an old out of touch carny that still thinks it’s 2001.

Is it bad that the best option here would be Aries shoot leaving?

The deal with Austin Aries is that he's a talented wrestler albeit very self important. He's in his 40s, very short and is currently between jobs. Thanks for writing.

Go away man, you're not a fan so just leave. What’s delusional about giving your opinion? Callis has done worked shoots in the past. I’ve also given praise to impact when they do something right. This is a discussion thread, it’s not a blind fandom thread. I’ve applauded impact for using aaa talent to the best of their abilities, but I can still voice my opinion if there’s something I don’t like. You’re aware of Callis trying to do worked shoots in the past? He claimed that Jericho was out of control during a press conference in New Japan. Callis has a history of doing worked shoots. The op asked if this was a shoot or work, and I gave my opinion.

His contract I believe was legit up
The stuff between him and Mundo was some worked/shoot BS but who the hell knows
I can see him probably saying f*** this place for a while after they decided to put the title on Mundo when Aries contract or agreement with the company was ending

Davey Richards did the same but at least he had a good job outside of wrestling, Aries has nothing.

I don't think he destroyed the bridge per se because that whole get up after the match is over shit is def some shit him and management had to think was clever and probably didn't tell anyone to make it look "real" I assume he legit walked out pissed that they were taking the title off him while he was leaving and who knows where the line draws between him and Mundo in that worked shoot BS but they were obviously professional enough to do the match and Aries doing the spot with Taya Aries is just going to wander the Indies as you expect and then probably return to Impact at some point next year. I only lean towards him being pissed at them ending his title reign because they were setting him up big time with Moose and Kross as his heavy back up and Mundo got a title shot with no real build and won the belt

Unfortunately there’s a reason most people despise Aries.

If this was a complete shoot then it caps off what people said from pretty early on; working with Aries wasn't going to do the company much good and it was going to end in problems. He and Low Ki are two of the best of their generation and they're both impossible-to-work-with jackhats who've screwed themselves out of opportunities and steady work. It's going to reach a point where they're only still getting as many bookings as they do because WWE is signing away everyone the hell else.

What's funny is he didn't burn his bridge with WWE, they just let him go or he asked for his release whatever the story is. He made sure not to f*** that up when he clarified his comments about making more money on the Indies than WWE. However, he did throw shade at No Way Jose If he came back it be the same story with going back to the CW division and he already didn't like that. Dude was good as a commentator and has a future in that

Yea, didn't Low Ki last leave Impact because they weren't going to make him champ after they had Alberto give up the belt They had the dude join LAX and all that and then he's just gone

Bruce Prichard said that he had no problem working with Aries so long as you were clear to him and explained him the long term plan, he’s still a pain in the ass. Meanwhile Low Ki is the modern Sabu, both innovators but also both unemployable.

Oh yeah they're on the same level of utter bullshit by any means, Low Ki earlier this year with the whole GCW fiasco should preclude the man from getting booked anywhere ever, but they're still both dudes out of the same corp of talent who helped change everything but who will never get anywhere near the recognition they should for it becuase they've pissed off everyone with power and lot of people without it.
