Really enjoyed the final match other than the end pin was a bit off feeling.

Yeah that was a crap ending to the match. The crowd was completely taken out by how Johnny won and even he looked pissed with how the match ended.
Cross looked like a beast though at the end.
All in all not a bad show. Some bad production issues and a very bad end to the main event.

So lets sort through this last shit...welcome back by the way TNA
It looked like they were setting up both Taya and Johnny to turn heel(Johnny desperately needs it)
Because Taya won due to Gail and Johnny got help by his survior buddies...and u have Kross telling Johnny he needs to do whatever it takes to beat Cage
But we will drop all that...
and here is Kross beating Jonny and very safely powerbombing taya into a crowd of plants getting cheered for it ...over the babyface Johnny Impact
Oh TNA you always find a way

Anyone care to describe what's happening? lol Impact won with a weird pin that didn’t feel like a 3. Cage grabbed the belt looking pissed and threw it down dismissively at Johnny. They go to credits after a Johnny and Taya celebration. Credits roll. Killer Kross lays out Impact and powerbombs Taya into the crowd.

TNA has truly become a zombie promotion. There is so little activity on these boards now. I fondly remember the LOL TNA PPV Threads of old. At least back then people were enjoying the promotion for its unintended comedic value now there is only deafening silence, how sad.

ah reality show goobers in the audience lol Surprised that this guy didn't show up: He was actually in the crowd at the NXT show tonight with Trevor Lee. A useless fact, but something I saw and shared anyway.

Good PPV for Impact to kick off the year with. The Ultimate X, Falls Count Anywhere, Callihan/Mack & LAX/Lucha Bros. matches were all really good matches, the main event was good, but unfortunately, the finish brought it down a smidge, though Kross brought it up a bit more. The KO matches were good, PLUS ROSEMARY'S BACK BABAY!!!. I'd say 7-7.5.

I blame the ending on the main event on both Johnny Impact and Brian Cage for choking as bad as Cody Parkey did for the Bears.

I could nitpick, but there's plenty of Impact haters to do that regardless.
If you see any match from this show watch the LAX vs. Lucha Bros. for the tag team titles, that was f***ing fantastic.
Ultimate X gets my second place vote.
Solid show.
not their best showing, but still better than a lot of what WWE tries to do, and people want to talk about Impact zombying through another show, naw, that's Ring of Honor at this point.

TNA is basically just a regular Indy with a bit of name value these days. There's little difference between them and MLW or even Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor. There's no reason to be hyped when they aren't that different to most other promotions that are on TV.

BTW, I noticed that for a show named "Homecoming", there wasn't a lot of former TNA wrestlers. This has been my problem with the Callis regime so far, not going the exra mile to make the fans happy. He's mainly doing good management work avoiding mistakes but that's it.

It was called Homecoming because they returned to their old stomping ground The Asylum for a show, nothing to do with former stars showing up or going any extra miles.

But it's not really an Homecoming if it's a completely different entity that were there before. At least give the fans at the asylum a nostalgic vibe that make them remember the old TNA. If you do a ECW homecoming, you damn right that there's gonna be Dreamer and Francine and Sabu. To make the fans happy that maybe are not that into the new things. When a son come home, it's not some other guy completely unrelated to the family. lol That is how you generate emotion which Callis doesn't seem to get.

When a son come home, it's not some other guy completely unrelated to the family. lol That is how you generate emotion which Callis doesn't seem to get. It's not Don Callis's fault that across fifteen years and multiple owners TNA isn't "the same" TNA that it was a decade and a half ago. Or that by the time he took the position he did, almost every major TNA talent from that era was locked down contractually to somewhere else. The only person they could maybe swing to bring in was Jeff Jarrett, who had a pretty bad exit from the company a short while ago over his drinking and who is currently suing the company. Atl east, if they wanted to look at guys from the Asylum era as opposed to just "random old TNA guys" which wouldn't be the same anyway and still not satisfy the point as you explained it. If you do an ECW tribute show, those sorts of people will be there because ECW isn't a thing anymore and there's little point in trying to serve nostalgia up with different faces. But Homecoming isn't about Nostalgia and it's not about making happy the fans "that maybe are not into the new things". It was was about returning to its original home for a night as the company it is now, and starting the year off continuing to move forward with what it has. Where it pays tribute to its past with Abyss in a Monster's Ball match and bringing back Ultimate X, the emphasis is still on being in the present instead of being a nostalgia show. You're criticizing the show for being something it was never meant to be and for not doing things it never promised and feasibly can't do with how many people are no longer available to them to do such a show with.
