So, I got the premium edition on launch day as a download, and while it says I'll get the upcoming DLC, it's not giving me Shao Kahn. Are they that strict about it being pre-order only and I have to pay $5.99 for him, or do I unlock him somewhere in story mode? should be a code in the box, I know the uk version is that way.

Between Bo Rai Cho and Nightwolf, which kinda-sorta plot important character in the franchise is more consistently uninteresting to you guys? Honestly does anyone care about Nightwolf? I mean he just comes across as so bland. At least original Stryker was entertainingly bad (MK9 made him likable) but Nightwolf I got nothing.

I know one gives a crap, but if Lizuka is right about the three Kombat Packs, and if it is 6 characters per pack, this would be my ideal line-up: 3. Kano's son from his MKX ending or Tremor You mean you don't want Jarek? Not even his own mother wants him

Much better than most of the Deception era throwaway characters.

To me, Nightwolf is only slightly memorable because he consistently gets the worst fatalities. In Deception, his two fatalities were both "throw tomahawk" to the point where MK9 combined the two into one (which was still lame).

I like Nightwolf a lot because I think his design and powers are really cool and he's pretty fun to use, but it feels like he has a lot of untapped potential both character-wise and in terms of his moveset/Fatalities that it seems they can't quite get a handle on. That being said, if he were to make an appearance in this one, I think they'd finally do right by him since it feels like they finally have a good grasp on what does and doesn't work. Other than Ronda as Sonya.

Only reason why I would want Nightwolf in the game to see what cheesy intros him and Erron Black would have

Out of those two, definitely Nightwolf, but I'm gonna throw out a third contender and say Sindel. I don't think there's a single character in Mortal Kombat who punches above their weight class in terms of coolness-to-plot-relevance more than Sindel does. Mother to two main characters, wife to the series' most iconic villain, kills like 6 named characters singlehandedly in MK9 story mode all while looking embarassingly goofy and dated and having a really lame power and moveset. A lot of the MK2 class are really lame and dated, like Baraka and Kintaro, but at least those guys are never treated as anything more than the jobbers they are.

At least Bo Rai Cho has some actual connections to the plot and to some other characters, Nightwolf's just this random guy the heroes who actually matter somehow know. HE'S THE TECH GUY! Don't you watch defenders of the realm

Nightwolf serves about as much purpose to Mortal Kombats lore as Hsu Hao does.
He has no specific rivalry with anyone
He has no specific purpose in any plot point in anyones story
He was a guy to fill a roster slot.

Nightwolf taught Liu Kang how to find his inner animality!
Oh goodness if they bring Nightwolf back he’s gonna look totally different. No way he comes back as is.

If they must bring back Nightwolf I'd like to see them take some cues from how the Killer Instinct reboot handled Thunder. His background's very clear from looking at him but it still has a lot of personality to it and you can tell they were looking to design him as an actual character with a clear direction in mind rather than just, "How do we make this race work for a fighter?" He has way more individual identity at a glance than Nightwolf has ever had.

Having direct input from people of the Nez Percé certainly helped with that, and doing something similar for Nightwolf could make a return that much better.

More info pointing at there being three season passes - been found that while the Switch version has 13 open slots for DLC, the PC version has 19, which would be exactly enough for Shao Kahn plus three packs of six.

So, am I trippin', or is this the hardest Mortal Kombat game since *at least* Deception?
EDIT: Also, this is the most violent the fatalities have ever been, right? Maybe my empathy needs to be toned down a bit, but MK11 seems to have more of a focus on agony rather than absurd spectacle. Might be the slow motion close-ups that just linger as opposed to the victory stance giving that impression. I know it's just a game, but I'm getting both the willies AND the heebie-jeebies.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but so much feels like a bigger departure from MKX than MKX was from MK9 if that makes sense.
