Well since I'm into comics, toys, and collectibles, the shops that have popped up over the years before Amazon and online retail wasn't where it was by the mid 2000's were the bees knees. The problem was that they would pop up in certain places that relocate without warning. It would feel like a fever dream because they would vanish without a trace most of the time. But that was before I would think to communicate with the shop owners enough to know if and when they would move. But to randomly be out about a drive by a shop and immediately have to stop and check it out. The good old days.

If anyone is from the Valley in SoCal, Gamedude was the place for getting video games early.
My brother and I back in the late 90s till high school would always get the PSX, Dreamcast, and PS2 games there early before street date.
And they had a really good selection of NES/SNES games when going old school wasn't the norm yet
