Had to suspect there’d be a bump from Vince’s announcement. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s a rebound after the holidays.

Post PPV and Vince bump. Hope they don’t take this as proof that everything is fixed.

Same week in each year:
2018: 2,547,000 2017: 2,786,000 2016: 2,944,000 2015: 3,378,000 2014: 3,631,000 2013: 4,112,000
A bump over last week is nothing to get excited about.

Pretty much as expected; they got a bump, it's not even a bump as high as last year's was, and the long-term consequences of this aren't going to be kind. Today was always going to get something extra, but if that something extra isn't going to stick with it then they've got a problem. The reality of long-term change needs to meet the reality of short-term viewer interest, if people don't want to give them a chance then they're not going to be very well off anyway. At the core of it, the company never should have let it reach this point in the first place and should have been ready to bring more sense to the product well before it reached emergency levels, they have only themselves to blame for it.
And you can see as much in the comparison figures paywindah posted. Their band-aid still fell short of almost a quarter million viewers from last year's regular-ass episode. WWE f***ed up here and it's going to be interesting how the January 7th Raw fares, but I don't have high hopes.

"Ah it really was the fictional character we ourselves installed and gave too much TV time that was the only problem and was entirely the performer playing him's fault, we're blameless and honestly, heroes."

It ended with a 45 minute guantket match with Natalya who’s about the seventh or eighth most interesting female on the roster standing victorious....

To be expected. I think the January 7th show will be our first real indicator of how things are coming together both in terms of quality and viewer interest.

they tuned in for Vince's announcements. After an hour they realized it was nothing and people stopped watching thereafter.

Probably just more Mcmahon authority figure nonsense, maybe a quick spike in something mildly intriguing for a month or two (one storyline or two with a little interest) then back to complacency. They truly need competition. Impact/ROH SOMEONE

They pretty much lost all the people they gained by the 3rd hour. Hopefully Jan 7th brings it cause that’s not good.

All tuned in to see Lashleys ass. Once that was over, viewers declined.

It's kind of crazy to think they were at 4 million not all that long ago. Makes me wonder what exactly in that timeframe seemed to trigger such a decline, since it's not as if the quality of the show was much higher back then, as best as I can tell. Frankly, the show has seemed to be pretty much the same the entire time...so maybe it's just a matter of a few more years of the same format going by and people getting sick of it? Then again, 2014 was when Punk left, and the year when Bryan had his big WM win but then had to vacate; maybe that was a double whammy that got a lot of the air leaking out of the balloon.
