Because of this loss, Pittsburgh is on the outside looking in. They will need to win and have the Cleveland Browns go to Baltimore and beat the Ravens as the final Wild Card spot will be down to the Colts/Titans

Days of our Steelers is going to be delightful Captain Fat f*** and the Black & Gold Brigade made the worst thing they could've done: They treated their victory over the Patriots as their personal Super Bowl. Every team that has done that recently has lost their following game and found themselves in trouble shortly after, as Miami, Tennessee, the defending champions Eagles and Sacksonville Abbey can attest. Last week the Steelers benefited from the penalties against New England but now penalties are what did them in.

End of week 1 in my league, I lead 115 to 55 with one player on my opponent's team left to play (Jared Cook tomorrow). Unless my team completely falls apart and I have the exact same kind of week he did next week, I think I'll have secured a championship.
If I do, I'm using some of that prize money to buy a FF Championship Belt and slinging that sucker into work with me (my entire department participated).

If not for that awful kicker they had at the beginning of the season, the Browns would be gearing up for the playoffs in all likelihood.

Surely, Sean Payton is going to rest Drew next week, right? I would, they has absolutely nothing to play for Exactly. They've clinched the division, a first week-bye, and home-field advantage. Give him two weeks to rest up and you can go hard for the Superb Owl.

For the record, in the 2009 championship season, Brees SAT Week 17.

Man, a month or so ago that finale with the Saints/Panthers looked like it could be for serious playoff positioning. Now instead of Brees vs. Newton it'll be...um, I dunno. Maybe Teddy Bridgewater will get some playing time?
I went to the Colts/Giants game today. I was disgusted with how awful the Colts were playing for much of the game yet somehow deep down I knew the Giants would figure out a way to give it away in the end (it is their M.O. for the past 3 years or so). Pretty sure the Colts never led until the last minute of the game. It is a bit surreal that the Steelers are now likely toast, yet the crappy Titans are still very much alive and probably a favorite to get that 6 spot since Indy travels to TN next week. Surely the Titans won't make it two years in a row as a totally heatless playoff team. The world is just begging for Titans/Texans III in the first round!
