I really don't know what I selfishly as a fan want here.
I want him in NJPW to continue working their best guys, to face Ibushi at the Dome next year, to have a title run that isn't a bit underwhelming.
I want him in AEW to help give them a shot at being a genuine competitor to WWE like we haven't had since WCW folded, because even with the Khan billions they're gonna need all the help they can get.
I want him in WWE for that shock moment of the Rumble, for the dream matches with Bryan & Styles & Rollins & hell guys like Cesaro, for the shake-it-up factor of Omega coming in and hopefully being the #1 guy, world champion Mania headliner.
I want all of these and yet they're kind of mutually exclusive. He MIGHT do NJPW and AEW, but I'd be staggered if a satisfactory deal got worked out for both parties there. Part of me wants him to become the top guy in WWE to be cemented as the top guy in the industry, part of me thinks "Well, as far as I'm concerned he's already the best performer, so why not be this generation's Sting and work elsewhere until he's ready to tick off his bucketlist"? I really don't know what I want to see, and I can't remember the last time I was this excited yet conflicted about a wrestler's future. The wrestling boom is already happening again guys.

To me, it comes down to what the specifics of what WWE are offering and what potentially others can offer him after this big summit coming up. If AEW can match WWE’s offer and give him freedom to perform in NJPW, Kenny would take that. Especially considering he has Japanese citizenship. Having said that. Moon’s point is one I didn’t think about until now; WWE has a big hole to fill on top and they haven’t really filled it with anyone, even with those they’ve considered their top stars like Rollins or Ambrose. Who better than a genuine bonafied well travelled star who has a HBO documentary coming soon? HBO Canada documentary. HBO is HBO, it's not like it isn't going to air in the states at some point.

To be fair, HBO Canada is a completely different company from HBO. HBO only licenses the brand name and programming to HBO Canada, which is owned by Bell Media (who in turn operate a lot of major Canadian TV channels like TSN, Much, CTV News, etc).
So anything produced by HBO Canada isn't guaranteed to be aired on Actual HBO.

I do also think with what the documentary is rumored to have, it is something WWE would be really interested in having a partner promote in the US.

Said it in other threads, but were I a betting man I'd place money on Kenny re-upping with NJPW but getting to work some dates for AEW and maybe ROH now and then. If WWE's offer is as insane as some are hinting then obviously it becomes a distinct possibility, but the guy lives in Japan most of the time, got his citizenship there, etc.; I don't think he's leaving.

Apparently in the post match interview Tanahashi mentioned that he and Omega are 1-1 and they need to break the tie. Apparently Tana is extremely careful with those kinds of statements so take that for what you will

Is it weird that I'd consider myself really into Kenny but don't actually care where he ends up? I dunno, he's super talented but of any of the available destinations for him they're all kind of, "Yeah, sure, s'alright," for me.
Although that said I feel like he would struggle a bit in WWE if only because he's honestly pretty horrendous on the mic.

The offer is apparently 3.5 mill Who reported that? Ringside News on twitter. He just sent out an actual tweet saying that's what he heard and was gonna look into it.

I’m the biggest Omega hater round this parts but the little creep deserves max dollar. He doesn’t have the savings of Cody or the clothing empire of the Young Bucks, that’s why he can’t take a gamble with AEW. He keeps working the New Japan style and his body will start getting irreparably harmed, let’s also take into account the f***ing airflights to Japan. Machinegun Anderson said that you basically lose months of your life on an airplane and it f***s with you mentally. There’s also the matter of taxes. If Omega wants to become a millionaire and have a better lifestyle, the wwe is the only option. I completely agree, WWE is the best move for him in terms of financial stability and thinking of life after wrestling. $3.5 million a year is not something I think he can make outside of WWE. Maybe AEW makes a nice offer, but who knows if it actually works out. Cody and the Bucks have made enough from wrestling they can afford to take the risk and besides they will be working behinds the scenes as well, which I doubt Kenny would do. Also, I am okay with Kenny leaving New Japan and they have everything set to go forward without him. I loved his match with Tanahashi, but I do not think Kenny should be booked as one of the top four while working less dates than Ibushi.

I can't see him leaving Japan. Even if he takes part in AEW, I'd wager he'd part time it there. It just seems like his bread and butter. I don't think he's gonna go to WWE, maybe down the line but I don't get the sense that he's given up on the freedoms of life outside of there yet.

Bell Media is one of the ones (please bear with my vague knowledge of the Canadian entertainment industry) who gets government funding for their predominantly Canadian-centric programming, right? If so, this means that every Canadian tax-payer has a hand in the Kenny Omega documentary, right?

I don't care where he goes, I feel like the only person in the world who is not a fan. Whenever he cuts a promo he sounds disinterested as hell which makes me disinterested in him.

I’m not a fan either. He just has a punchable face. I just hate the guy and I can’t explain it. It reminds me of American Dad when Stan hated Steve’s fat friend just because.

While I'm sure Cody and the Bucks have different bank account sizes than Kenny, you make it sound as if he's burning money like MC Hammer. He still makes good change with shirts and his New Japan checks. I really doubt he isn't gonna be financially set after retirement.

If Tony Khan is involved, they got some serious bank to throw around. The Khans are worth billions. Clearly if he is bankrolling it then they are going to have money to play with but the issue is how long will he be interested in it? There’s plenty of guys with lots of money who have invested and then bailed on wrestling before, even ones who are genuinely fans of dis bizness. It’s going to be quite intriguing as to how this all plays out. That is my big question. Khan might be throwing money at this now, but he's going to want a return on that investment and they'll need to make that happen. As we've seen from Impact, getting a TV deal for wrestling in today's world is not easy.

If the £3.5million is true then he would be mad not to go for it.
Can’t say I know a whole lot about him and I do wonder how much of the WWE fan base would know who he was initially to justify an offer that high. Maybe I am wrong, but it seems to me that WWE have changed their tune completely if this is true probably as a result AJ Styles.
I get the impression they didn’t expect as many of the fan base to know who he was when AJ debuted and he was far more over than they anticipated. I worry that the opposite might be true of Kenny Omega initially, who has had virtually no exposure in the US - yet they are expecting him to be top dog straight away if they are throwing that kind of money at him. He would get a big reaction from the likes of a Wrestlemania weekend crowd, but would the majority of the fan base know who he was?
I am a sucker for hype though so would be all over this even without having seen much of his work.

The only real option should be WWE. Let’s be real here, going to WWE would get his name recognized all over the world. And factor in if it’s true 3.5 million a year over likely 3 years that’s more than enough to set him up for life. Than after those few years in WWE he’ll still be a young guy & be able to join his friends in AEW or go back to Japan & have much bigger name recognition than he does now.

For me, as a fan, I just don't see the allure of him being in WWE. Don't get me wrong, if they're offering him stupid money then I wouldn't blame him for signing, but just as a fan what would WWE do with him that would be particularly interesting?
I mean, AJ went to WWE and became a very well paid main eventer, that's great, but thanks to WWE's typical booking so many of his feuds have been pretty big disappointments (Owens, Nakamura, Joe) and WWE's usual main event match layout and psychology just falls pretty flat for me most of the time (e.g. AJ vs. John Cena). The Lesnar and Bryan matches were excellent, but I think it says something when the guys who tend to have the most interesting matches tend to be the guys who are wholly in a position to tell WWE to go screw if they can't go and do some of the stuff they want to do in a match.
Again, I totally get it if Kenny feels he can't turn down an absurd contract offer, but outside of the "hey, it'd be cool for Kenny to walk out to a full football stadium for a Mania match" sight I don't see what there'd be to get very excited about.
