I feel like we’ll know for sure where he is going once the AEW rally happens on Tuesday. If he is going there you have to imagine they’d announce it then. Ehh, not really. If his deal with NJPW does not end until the end of the month as some have said, they couldn't legally talk to him, let alone announce anything (barring AEW having a deal made with NJPW). We know he's got his next move planned, just as Kushida does, but there can be nothing official until the contract is fulfilled. Eh, sort of; it depends on how New Japan's contracts are worded and what periods of exclusivity New Japan has in negotiations with him. You don't have to wait for your contract to run out to start exploring other options, the problems come from doing it before any periods are over or when trying to induce someone to break their existing contract and walk way ahead of time. Otherwise WWE would have been in a world of shit for the AJ/Gallows/Anderson/Nakamura move. If there's less than a month to Kenny's contract then in all likelihood he's been open for some time now to other talks and negotation, and AEW may be abel ot make that announcement given the promise that it's clear he's being advertised for a time after his contract is up.

Here's a quote from Omega around 6 months ago speaking on if he went to the WWE and how WWE's restrictions will impact him and his creativity.

Sounds like he's looking at it as a unique challenge. Though, someone like him would probably only have to worry about a 5 minute match if you're counting before commercial breaks. We're out of crash TV territory, they tend to allocate 15-20 minutes most Raws or Smackdowns to what amounts to the showpiece match, even if it's not always the main event. I feel like that kinda kicked off when Matt Hardy was doing one of those a week with a variety of opponents on Smackdown before he got injured and returned with the "keyblade tights", as people call them, where he was arguably the guy to see in WWE for a bit.
Kenny would probably be given a lot of those kinds of matches, minus just if they had him wiping the floor with a scrub to show off his signature moves.

I will be a bit disappointed if he leaves, if I'm honest. I do feel like there's unfinished business in NJPW, plus if he left for WWE then that loses AEW the biggest draw they can get out of the gate.
In a way though, I'm more disappointed about KUSHIDA leaving. People have been clamouring him to bust out of the juniors for well over a year and do exactly what Ospreay is doing, he's made it clear he wants to, instead he got kept in the Jrs and is now off to WWE where if their track record is anything to go by he's going to be a 205 Live headliner and not much else. I'd much rather see him move up and face guys like Ishii or yeah, Omega, than be the new Funaki.

Really hope he stays or joins AEW. WWE will find a way to make him bland and boring and restrict a lot of what he does. WWE is a good payday but nothing else.

Clearly, NJPW has no interest in pushing him out of the Jr division, otherwise they would have. He has to go somewhere else to try and move up.

Omega is in a rare position that at the end will only benefit him. Not often in wrestling are you sitting there with offers from three major companies wanting to pay you big for what you do. That is a great position to be in. Fact is no matter where he decides to sign he getting paid big time. AEW needs him and would make a big splash by signing him, as right now he is becoming the hottest free agent. Omega as a plus where ever he goes. AEW he can take credit in building a brand that changes wrestling long term and beyond his wrestling days if all goes right for AEW. He goes to the WWE gets paid and has a chance to headline wrestlemania. Stay in NJPW still get paid and keep building what he started.

Going by the story in Tokyo Sports, it reads largely like a work and thus to me like Omega's not leaving, but we won't be seeing him during the New Beginning.
If he's not in WWE by February, then I fully anticipate that the next time we hear his name is when the announcer is going over the New Japan Cup participants, gets to the end, and you just get something like "First round match! EVIL vs. ...KENNY OMEGA!"
But yeah, good Lord am I bummed about KUSHIDA. Said it in the other thread, but if this is happening because the NJPW office just refuses to let him spread his wings and fight some heavyweights (not even a full move to HW, just some matches over the NEVER and maybe a G1 run) then that just sucks, but it's also possible that he just wants to travel more and figures it's now or never in his career if he's going to do that. Fingers crossed we all get swerved and he ends up in AEW.

We will have to wait and see when the promotion actually starts. It should take atleast 6months to a year right? Why would Omega quit NJPW now then? He is going to the Rumble or he is injured and just taking a break.

Even if Kushida goes to 205 Live he has the chance to impress or to move up, and that's on the assumption that in time 205 Live doesn't blur the lines a bit more like they did with Mustafa Ali before he moved up and Lucha House Party working the Raw tag team scene. WWE has much less of an issue blending weight classes than New Japan does. Balor got the Universal title, but him even contending for the IWGP title was a rare something we don't see too often, and him mixing it up with heavyweights was always just the slightest bit of a peculiar novelty more than the norm. In WWE that's just how the show goes most days.

People really need to stop taking what Omega says in interviews and on social media at face value. The dude is always, always, always working people.

Seeing reports that WWE is interested in SANADA too, courtesy of Voices of Wrestling.
I don't see how he would remotely fit in on the main roster.

I hope he goes to AEW, because I want to see them succeed and I think he'd help them out alot and can definitely be the face of the company there. Either way, he might be in the best position a wrestler has been in since possibly the 90's. He's got three companies that will likely throw tons of money to him. He has the choice of staying in Japan where he's been, go work with his friends and help jumpstart a new promotion(that happens to be funded by an insanely rich dude), or he can go to the big time in WWE and make wheelbarrows of cash.

In all this I also have to ask... where does Kushida go?? Is him leaving a sign he signed with AEW or does WWE have interest in him??

As with SANADA, I have a hard time seeing how he fits in on the main roster. Presumably he loses most or all of the BTTF accoutrements in WWE.

Both Kushida and SANADA going to the E feels like a bit much considering they already have Nakamura and don't seem to know what to do with him, even more so with Itami. Unless the reports on Nakamura leaving are true and they're eyeing Kushida and SANADA as filling that spot. If AEW has the funds they do, they might make a bid for both

If AEW has the funds they do, they might make a bid for both KUSHIDA's at least got more experience in North America, I think; the guy is bilingual and spent a number of years living near San Diego and near Toronto, and digs the Western style of wrestling. Still, it's hard to project what WWE would do with him. SANADA is just an athletic freak, so I don't blame any promotion for wanting to get him over, but he's quieter and less outwardly enthusiastic (hence the "Cold Skull" character) and as far as I know only speaks Japanese, so I'm not entirely sure.

Going after Sanada feels like such a lateral move just to hurt one of NJPW's strongest acts because they aint ever getting Naito.
I guess like already said they would just slap him together with Almas....the same one they aint got any idea what to do with outside of we need him in a match this week.
