Next trio announced is Ophidian, The Whisper, and Lance Steel. I wonder if The Crucible will get 2 teams in this year. Feel like The Crucible need to win KOT this year or they're just gonna be yet another wasted threat they're trying to build up.

Feel like The Crucible need to win KOT this year or they're just gonna be yet another wasted threat they're trying to build up. I'm really of two minds with that. On the one hand, you're absolutely right. And it's partially why I hope they don't get two teams in, because that means one team has to lose and that cheapens the Crucible before they really start gaining steam. By the time we had two BDK teams, for example, the BDK had been pretty dominate throughout a number of shows. On the other hand... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}There's been a lot of speculation this may be the last season of CHIKARA. If it is, I'd hate to see the last Kings of Trios be the Crucible honestly. Even if it'd be nice to see Ophidian get the feather in his cap. Ideally I'd like a team that would give it a more feel good moment. Like, I don't know, maybe a threepeat for the Colony? Or maybe Quack gets a team of some Gen 1'ers and goes all the way? Without the full field out it's hard to say really.
If they did go in that direction, I'd still want and still feel like the Crucible should get to the finals.

If they did go in that direction, I'd still want and still feel like the Crucible should get to the finals. If this is the last season of CHIKARA then not letting any of the fans or anyone officially know and just... ending it at the end of the year would... sadly be completely on brand for Quack. I still remember how heartbroken by California friend was when they cancelled the Reseda show, pretty sure they lost a ton of goodwill over that stunt (Along with a ton of their momentum which has been well documented), just hasn't felt the same since coming back, so much talent lost, so much quality of the shows presentation lost. I've been waiting for them to get back on some even ground and build again and it just... always seems like something happens, like a bunch of talent just suddenly stops showing up and a bunch of storylines get derailed. The loyalty and drive to be on and in CHIKARA is waning, it's not 2010 anymore, exposure on the indies is so broad, and CHIKARA where they used to stand out, have dimmed immensely for a number of reasons, those expressed above, and even more than that both internal and externally. It just might finally be catching up. CHIKARA is where so many talented now current Indy and Professional stars got their start, they hold a rich legacy that isn't gonna be forgotten, but lately it just feels like the new legacy they've tried to start has been extremely flat, I feel bad for the workers cause they're all talented and cool, I feel bad for the fans who never see or will never see CHIKARA because they barely leave PA anymore, I just feel bad overall hearing potential this and that, just a giant shame, CHIKARA felt like a family that fractured and never recovered in 2013, now it may never.

I like Deppen especially, dude's getting his shine lately as he'll be in BOLA this year too, but like... "The most dangerous trio in CHIKARA history", guys, they've teamed for like a year, they're not the same Akuma and Chuck Taylor Trio that FIST used to be... sure Icarus has all the credentials but it just isn't great wording to me. It's like acting like The Colony is one of the best Trios in CHIKARA History when Green Ant 2 and Thief Ant are shown on the picture... it doesnt work that way. Carrying on the legacy sure, but they're not the same team. I was actually going to say, they've done this before with teams like the Colony and BDK, and others. They've done this before with even another version of FIST (Icarus, Taylor and Gargano) and every time it feels...a little gross. Like, I can get the logic of it to an extent and especially if two thirds of the team are still the same working parts. But it just feels kind of weird and like they're trying to pull a fast one on you or a more unsuspecting fan. It feels like a carny move a low rent indie would resort to making. Not a promotion that once was arguably the number one independent wrestling promotion in America. I get that some fans aren’t into keeping some teams going but FIST and Colony will always exist in some form. Quack has stated that himself. He compared the teams to comic book factions. I have to disagree about it feeling like CHIKARA is pulling a fast one. Soldier Ant and Silver Ant have been gone for years. No one is going to a CHIKARA show expecting to see them be there as the Colony. Same with Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano. They’ve been gone for years and have moved on to other companies. Indie fans know this already. You’d have to be a severely lapsed fan that only paid attention to CHIKARA and decided to catch a show one day after a few years without checking the line up. I doubt there’s anyone out there doing that and if they did that’s on the fan, not CHIKARA.

Yeah I'm not disputing that, I'm all for bringing back factions like the next sort of legacy, that's classic comic books I just have an issue with how they word it like it's the same team is all like that tweet, these are not "The most vicious trio in CHIKARA History", if it was Akuma and Taylor, sure, that's the FIST that did that. Huckabee and Deppen while they are the current CdP, have not been with CHIKARA for more than two years tops each... I'm ok with a new FIST and a new guard being passed, but even just calling them "The Re-vamped Most Dangerous Trio" or "The Revival of the Most Dangerous Trio in CHIKARA History", is better wording and presentation for this FIST, than trying to act like this FIST is the same, it's just weird presentation.

I doubt there’s anyone out there doing that and if they did that’s on the fan, not CHIKARA. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I have no problem with factions continuing on beyond their original incarnation. Heck, CHIKARA without the Colony in it for that period of time it happened just felt weird. It felt wrong because the Colony had become such an integral part of the promotion's identity, like a few other talents. I love the ideas of legacies in wrestling, whether it's a gimmick or a group. It's one of the aspects I enjoy about CHIKARA, the fact that some factions live on and you can see them morph and change (Fire & Soldier to Fire & Soldier & Worker to Fire & Soldier & Green to Fire & Soldier & Green & Carpenter to Fire & Green & AssailANT, ect). My point was a continuation of his point, them falsely and incorrectly attributing accolades to a version of the factions that never won them. It feels very disingenuous to say, for an example, "the Former King of Trios, the BDK!" when it's Jakob, Pinkie and Jaka. So, yes, you can disagree and you still can if you'd like, but it does feel a bit like a low rent indie tactic and like someone trying to pull a fast one in the sense I was discussing.

I’ve only seen Travis refer to FIST as the most dangerous trio. CHIKARA called them the nastiest trio. Travis is a heel so I’m ok with him going for more heat from fans by saying that. Nastiest can be debatable but I don’t have a problem with it. That’s all I’ve seen so if there’s something I’ve missed feel free to post it. It’s very possible that you’ve seen something that I haven’t.

I just saw on Facebook that Mike Quackenbush will be doing a seminar on chain wrestling and submission wrestling in Winnipeg in September.
On the one hand, I am absolutely not in shape. On the other hand, this may very well be one of the only times I ever get to see Quack live. I am conflicted on whether I should go.
EDIT: Also, even for the speaking part, it's like $45. Don't know if I should spend that kind of money.

Ohhhhh Oceanea. You coulda been such an awesome creepy villain and it all just went nowhere, huh?
I recently found out that Ashley Vox is gay, one of the very few out gay wrestlers even on the indies. It's not a criticism of Chikara that hasn't ever come up, but I'm a little surprised no one ever mentioned it even in passing, since it's legit so rare.

And another of the baseball stadium shows just got rained out. Event is being changed to August 9th.
Man, it seems like every stadium show they've tried to run has been rained out. Not a good start to the season.

Not a good start to the season. This one was the one that was previously rained out (and not the one where they basically said screw it and did a show in 20 minutes), so it looks like Trenton's pretty much cursed when it comes to getting a show off without a hitch.

Crucible team has to win, Quack.
Either Ophidian's or, if there is one, the kids.
Thief Ant didn't get crap outta winning last year. But a new rudo group gets mystique and cred, and that's what they all need.
