The thing that cracked me up about the Lynch version of Dune is that Sean Young was kinda meant to be the female lead and romantic interest for Kyle MacLachlan and she had basically no screen time, haha.

Speaking of the Lynch version, I remember watching it when I was a sophomore. I had no idea what I had just watched, but I knew it was significant.

Is t Dave a little old for that particular role? He is older than either of the other two actors cast for the part previously, but I think he'll be just fine. It does suggest that the Baron Harkonnen they cast will be older though I think, since Feyd and Rabban are his nephews. So far I think the announced cast is just Rebecca Fergusson as Lady Jessica, Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, and Dave Bautista as Rabban (Rabban hasn't been added to IMDB yet as his role, so I don't know how official that news is) I think Bautista would be even better as Gurney Halleck, but he could be a very scary Beast Rabban

www.syfy.com/syfywire/dream-casting-duneHere's a Syfy article with some Dune dream casting It lists Timothee Chalamet as Paul and Dave Bautista as Gurney Halleck. Some pretty good dream casting there. Some other great suggestions too. Also some that are not so good (i.e. Kyle McLaughlin as Duke Leto) Alexander Siddig as Liet Kynes is so perfect, I'm going to be disappointed when it isn't him. What a criminally underused actor (Game of Thrones, I'm f***ing looking at you with angry eyes)

Along with this Dune casting and possibly the role of Bane, Big Dave is becoming a modern sci-fi staple. Imagine during the heyday of basketballs and weapons being encouraged, you were told that...or even when he queen waved his way out of WWE a few years back. Hell, it's hard to believe now!

He was in the last Riddick movie before he came back to WWE, but I'm not sure if he had any sci-fi roles prior. He's been building up a steady catalog of sci-fi roles that he could be considered a legend in the genre when it's all said and done. How insane is that to be a serious possibility?

We have our Duke Leto Atreides (Put the whole royal family together) Love Isaac as an actor, but he seems like he might be a better fit for Duncan Idaho. I'm sure he'll do a fantastic job though, he pretty much always does. Can't be worse than William Hurt's lifeless performance.

Apparently the cinematographer on this is Greig Fraser
You might know him from the gorgeous looking Star Wars Rogue One

I rewatched some of the miniseries just a couple days ago, and that's the first thing that struck me, was how...deflated William Hurt seemed. His meeting with Duncan on Arrakis, he's just mumbling while seemingly having taken one painkiller too many. Another bizarre casting choice from the miniseries is Stilgar. Say what you will about Lynch's version, but he nailed the casting.

We’re it my movie is probably do Batista as Halleck, Issac as Idaho, and someone older to be the Duke. Liam Neeson, maybe?
