Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger immediately come to mind. Two world champions in the largest company in the world who each were around for years, held a string of less prestigious but still still significant championships, and either had or could have potential for crossover MMA success.
Yet, for a lot of their careers the crowd went mild.

I’m gonna go with Charolette. The most propped up star since Triple H.

Gotta be Del Rio. Dude won a Rumble, a MITB, the World Heavyweight Title, the WWE Title, the US Title... and barely anyone looks back fondly on him. I’d struggle to come up with any matches he had that stand out either. I don't wanna say Charlotte, but like Charlotte. Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte.

HHH Hands down. At least post 2000. After 2000, he was an upper mid card talent AT BEST pushed as Cena, Rock or Hogan. Everything about him was bland and boring, from his promos to his brawling one dimensional ring work, and he got like 10-11 title reigns, and a loss of a MILLIONS of viewers despite the ridiculous push
The other guys mentioned were overpushed, but they didn't get the lengthy never-ending, year after year, BORE Push that HHH got for a decade. Especially when there were far more deserving guys at the time like Booker T or RVD who were far more over and exciting

I like his in ring work mostly, but really surprised not a mention of Randy Orton in this thread yet. For so much of his career he has mailed it in and he's a 13 time world champ, won a MITB, two Rumbles, been IC champ, US champ, tag champ, main evented multiple Manias, has beaten everybody on the planet...

I really want to say Batista.
I don't know if I can justify it to anybody, but that's just the feeling I've got.

Can't disagree but if i gotta choose one it's ADR.

Alexa Bliss is a five time champion, MITB winner, the first woman to win both the Smackdown and RAW titles and the longest reigning RAW champion.

I really want to say Batista. I don't know if I can justify it to anybody, but that's just the feeling I've got. Big Dave was like a PG-Era Nash. If he was motivated and in there with the right opponent, he could give you a really solid match. Unfortunately, those times seemed few and far between. At least unlike stiffs like ADR and Swagger, he was always hugely over with the crowd, barring the disaster in 2014.

To me Randy's just always had that big shot (not Hardcore Holly) swagger, even when he's giving 30% effort or working a chin lock fest. Like, even if his matches are boring me I'm like.. "eh, Randy's that dude. It's cool.". And the RKO outta nowhere is still very effective.
