To tell you the truth, other than the match against Benoit as a tribute to Owen, I don’t remember a match Bret had in wcw that was good. Bischoff just wanted to sign Bret Hart, but once that happened he had no idea what to do with him. He had some good matches with Booker T and Sting

I still think it's crazy that Bret putting Benoit in the SharpShooter was in the intro to Malcolm in the Middle. But wasn't it the story that Bret actually wanted to lose the match, and Benoit was like, "No f***ing way you're losing a match dedicated to your recently deceased brother." I thought Bret was booked to lose and him and Benoit got it switched? There's an interview on YouTube before he got his stroke. He wanted Benoit to win it but the office said no. He was also thankful they let him do a clean finish for a change.

Owen's brother losing the tribute match would have been a complete downer of an ending that didn't need it.

He had a very underrated match in early 99 against Malenko. This match is Bret Hart's best as it led to one of the best promos ever, "This is a GROIN injury"

How was the Finlay match? I haven't got around to watching it yet.
I'm also curious which of his Booker T matches was the best. They wrestled on several different shows, and not all of them are on The Network yet (1998 Saturday Night, for one).

Definitely a short list but i liked Bret vs DDP at World War 3. I enjoyed that match, too.

He had a very underrated match in early 99 against Malenko. I had stopped watching WCW after the Fingerpoke of Doom, but I'll have to look this up on the Network because that's like a dream match to me.

In his book Bret said Malenko injured him when he tried to do a Superplex of the top rope. Said that Malenko never bothered to apologise for it afterwards and he lost a lot of respect for Malenko because of it
