If he did jump, Yokozuna would also get in(since Hall and Hogan were trying to get him in anyways) and he and Taker will form a BSK stable with Brian Adams.

as a guy who loves BikerTaker (and he WAS over, saying he wasn't is revisionist history) I think Bischoff is either an idiot or blowing smoke if he thinks he'd have no use for the guy without the gimmick. then again this is the same man who signed Bret freaking Hart and managed to do nothing with him, so...

I just cannot believe Undertaker would be seen dead (ha ha) in WCW. WWF was doing the best business it had since the 80s and Undertaker was their top heel (and likely the highest paid wrestler behind Steve Austin) in 1999.
If there was any mention of Undertaker going to WCW it would have been to negotiate a pay rise with Vince. WCW was a complete dog turd in 1999.

Number 1, Taker would have ran out of tape for his fists pretty quickly in wCw
No 2, even without the Undertaker name just give him a supernatural element, even then he was among the most recognizable faces in wrestling, I think it would have been a mistake making him Mean or the proto-BikerTaker (at least at first)

He was already over by that point due to being the Undertaker. He could've come over as Mark Calaway without the gimmick and been fine (same as Scott Hall not needing to be Razor Ramon anymore because he was already established with wrestling fans). And being on the WCW side would've been the perfect way to make the WCW side more attractive to the audience (which liked the heel nWo more than the babyface WCW). His size wouldn't have been as much of an issue as Bischoff is making it out to be.

Maybe they would make him the long lost brother of Sting?

Gravedigger would have actually been a super cool name for him, which was later used by the Monster Truck driver. Tweak his look but keep it similar. Get rid of the western mortician hat and just have him in black, with dark make up carrying a spade or something.

I think the bigger story here is that Bischoff to this day apparently still thinks having Nitro be a NWO show and Thunder being the WCW show would of been a good, money making idea.

If they were going with the split idea than Nitro should have remained as WCW and Thunder created for the nWo.

"where has Mean Mark been all these years?" "Wherever it was, it wasn't very Sunny I guess." "He looks as stone cold as a rock." " Heartbreaking to see him not doing so well, kid." "..... Tekno Team 2000." Sorry, I coulda taken this bit farther, sluggish day for me today...

if this happened in 1996 or early 97, I wonder if we would have got the return of Brian Lee as the Fake Undertaker

The best part about the format of the OP is that I wasn't subjected to Conrad's voice, nor his opinion.

Maybe they would make him the long lost brother of Sting? I agree with some variant of this. Have Mark wear a matching trench coat, similar face paint, and start shadowing Sting's run ins without really explaining or officially pairing them up. When Sting defeats Hogan, Mark fights off The NWO outside the ring. As Sting hoists the belt, Mark turns heel and we are into our fantasy Undertaker/Sting program.

“Where would he have fit?” Hahahahhahaha as if that ever stopped him from hiring any WWE or ECW vet successful or not before. He brought in scrubs like Marty Jannetty, and a pregnant looking Ahmed Johnson, but wouldn't know where the f***ing Undertaker would fit?
Jesus, Eric.

But Taker became ABA when WCW had one foot in the grave. This is Eric talking about (I think) Taker jumping in 1996/97, which would have been harder to pull off.
Taker was loyal to Vince because there was a lot of money in the name and gimmick. Had he jumped to WCW he would have lost that name and lord knows how he would have been booked because of that so Taker always staying in the WWF was more logical than loyal.

Biker Taker was over sure, Biker Mean Mark Callous though? No f***ing way. Please imagine Mean Mark Callous debuting on nitro riding his bike. No way it works.
