I appreciate Jordynne trying to spin positive but this being the interwebz that comment is gonna come back to bite her in the ass if she jumps at the first bigger offer that comes her way.

I can’t let this go, Jordynne Grace just said the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

I can’t let this go, Jordynne Grace just said the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard in my life. She hasn't even said the stupidest thing on the issue of TNA's ratings. Josh Matthews literally claimed that nobody except wrestling fans care about TV ratings. This is as uplifting and "I'm going to make the best of this situation" a way to look at it as you can get, and for someone for whom TNA is a genuinely big step up in exposure from the scattered indie bookings she was working before, this is still a big deal. Not going to begrudge someone for trying to put a spin on it when they're at least not insulting or condescending anyone in the process. This is still leagues ahead of 95% of TNA people trying to stick up for bad news.

How many people watched, and how many were just stuffed animal heads?
You start counting those heads at an audience, and...NEW BOOM PERIOD!

In a company that has had Josh "Buckets of Money" Mathews, Vince Russo, Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett, and Ed "What Are You Going to Do, Hardys, Join WWE?" Nordholm associated with them, Jordynne's comments actually have an air of common sense about them in comparison. She's at least saying that as long as there is an audience there's something to build on. Sure, I don't see it happening, but she's hardly going to join in with the laughing and joking.

Whenever someone tries to defend an ignorant and dumb comment with "What are they supposed to do, admit the company they work for is shitty?" this is exactly the kind of comment that people mean when they say they there's a better way to talk around the issue than what they did. Jordynne didn't tear anyone down or express any sort of delusional nonsense or lie about anything. She's committing to doing her job and emphasizing how the audience that is there is important to her. It's realistic in its expectation of making the most of what's already there. It's uplifting the fans instead of insulting them or making excuses. I'm here for it.

I'm sure in private she's thinking "We're absolutely f***ed", but saying as much publicly would not only alienate and discourage the audience that is still there, but sends out the message to potential future employers that she can't be professional when professionalism is needed. Much as we fans like to rag on people for toeing company lines, we're not the ones who have to show up to work for those companies.

That would be like a musician bragging that only a thousand people attended one of his shows in a fifty thousand seat stadium.

Yeah because you don't tell the people who are watching to eat shit. It's not bragging that the show did the numbers it did, it's expressing gratefulness for having the audience you do have. A band playing in a shitty dive bar doesn't crap on how many people showed up because it's not a packed arena. She has no control over what decisions the company makes or how many people show up, but she can control whether or not the people who do show up enjoy themselves and care.

Josh Matthews has basically become the Iraqi Minister of Information.
I'm calling him Baghdad Josh from now on.

Does anyone in Canada know if they at least got decent ratings on The Fight Network? I know they bought it for the same reason Viacom bought Bellator - to have programming that they own and control.
I can understand continuing to put together an inexpensive show if it gets a decent enough rating on their home channel in their home market, but if it's not doing well there either? It's not a matter of if WWE buys the library, but when.

I don’t have a problem about her thanking the fans who watched, good for her by doing that, she should’ve left it there and not mention that the size of the audience doesn’t matter because it does.

You know the phrase "It's not about the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog"? It's that. It's a spin on an idiom. The size of the audience does matter, she's not actually making that literal claim, she's talking about what's important to her performance and what she does when she goes out there, because by then the audience size is kind of set, but that doesn't mean she's not going to give it her all.

Yo I was going to say I can’t believe she’s catching heat for that tweet, but then I remembered it’s Impact and people get real aggressive when it comes to watching them fail.
They’re putting out a good product for the first time in forever. Never in my life did I expect I’d end up being someone who has to defend Impact (especially after how the Impact fandom could get back in the day) but holy shit. As long as they keep putting out something good, I’ll be rooting for them.
