Ghostbusters has always been one of my favorite fandoms. I don’t mind when they make changes. I watched every episode of Extreme Ghostbusters as a teen and was one of the few people that enjoyed the remake. I’m really excited to see what they do with this. Even if it sucks I’ll always have the original.

I'm of two minds on this.
On one hand, I like the contrast is setting of a small town vs the big city of the first two movies, and it really does feel more like a film set in the universe rather than just doing the original movie again.
Tone wise though, its little too serious. Granted its just a teaser trailer and they no doubt wanted to differentiate from the comedy focused 2016 film, but I'll be a bit more impressed if I see signs they balanced the supernatural stuff with genuine humor.

A more serious tone, for now (reminder: it's 2.5 minutes from a 2 hour movie), but this was neat. In that brief tone they manage to sell kids as Ghostbusters; in that they're flying by the seats of their pants dealing with some out of the way horror......that works. But of course I feel bad liking this, because I'm sure that makes me a hater. That said, the awe of a new GB movie seems horribly muted because we just had one a couple years ago.

Colour me intrigued. This looks like it could be a really interesting twist on the Ghostbusters concept and I'm really liking what I see. Hope it manages to follow up on it. The family being related to Egon does give it a good way for them to get into it.

I like the feel for it, I almost forgot some of the casts are kids, there's a bit of wisdom to them.

That was pretty freaking sweet.
I'm for a more serious and horror vibe. Do what they did in the first 2, and add a different spin to it. Don't make it exactly like the previous two, do something a little different.

Soo stranger things the movie Seems a bit more like The Goonies + Backstory of a past family member with supernatural links + Ghostbusters.

Honestly, all I could take from that trailer is "Ok, so the director really liked Stranger Things, but it's going to be a reference to the original movie every 10 seconds rather than a mix of 80s pop culture."

Ghostbusters 3, Bill and Ted 3, what's the next sequel to escape development hell? What was the issue in the Mushroom Kingdom that they needed Mario and Luigi back for?

That looks nothing like a Ghostbusters movie. That said, it does look really good.

It looks like they had a script for a film about kids in a rural area who find out that their farm is haunted....then awkwardly shoehorned a few Ghostbusters elements into it.

Conflicted. Definitely. The tone (EvenIfJustTheTrailer) is strikingly serious. Which is fine, and probably the right approach it’s just a bit jarring considering the previous reboot was at the other end of the spectrum and as someone mentioned not even a couple of funny spots layed out within it. I don’t watch Stranger Things, so tone-wise like, Jumanji (og) comes to mind. And I f***ing loved that so..
Paul Rudd and the intrigue/mystery of it will probably pull me to want to go see it. In which case, maybe the tone makes sense. And the kids seem alright.

random thought: This trailer feels like 98% of the footage is from Act 1 of a story
