If they lure Murray back to play Venkman's ghost, I think they're gonna have a tough time explaining why Egon isn't a ghost too.

I really, really hope they don’t go crazy with the budget this time so it actually has a chance to succeed. I don’t see GB 3 being a billion dollar movie, so let’s not spend $300 million on the damn movie
If it hits big, then you go for your huge budget Ghostbusters movie. But wash the stink of Answer the Call, and re-establish the franchise before you swing for the fences again

Part of me feels they wouldnt go as far to give us a teaser even unless Murray is involved. Just seems like he was the reason no GB3 for years and now this.

lol. They're erasing the Paul Feig movie with the quickness. Goddamn.
But for real. It's probably the right decision if you wanna do anything with Ghostbusters. People love the original cast and those guys are OOOOOOOOOOOOOLD. You gotta get them on film as those characters again while you can.
Unlike trotting out a really old and sad Indiana Jones, this will actually be in character. The Ghostbusters being even more fat and schlubby adds to the comedy.

lol. They're erasing the Paul Feig movie with the quickness. Goddamn. It’s too bad, those girls deserved another shot without Paul Feig who I blame for ALOT of the 2016 mess. But if they wanted to save the franchise they had to distance themselves from it. Old fans hated it, new viewers were indifferent, cut losses and walk away

I'm good with this if it retains the humour and style of the first movie.

The remake has a lot of problems, but I thought the four lead actresses weren’t among them. And I’m saying that as someone who doesn’t even particularly like Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.

I generally can’t stand Kristen Wiig but she was perfectly fine in that. He more annoying tendencies were fairly reigned in. My biggest issue with the leads was Jones because she only ever plays “fat sassy black woman from the street. With attitude, cause she’s black and from the street” and that’s blatantly how they wrote that character. Don’t care much for her on SNL either, because she always gets stuck doing that same schtick.

Since it says it's coming out next year I can only assume they are using the script that was thrown out by Pascal and Feig. Yeah, the problem wasn't the actresses. it was the script. Whole characters really had no reason to be there... you could have removed Wiig's character from the movie and nearly nothing would have changed.

I’d honestly never heard of her or Kate McKinnon prior to the remake since the Lonely Island music videos are the only parts of SNL I’ve seen in the past 15 years, so I guess my opinion is going to be different. But I can totally see why the “sassy black lady” thing could be annoying, especially if you see the same actress doing it over and over again. That’s kinda the same reason I’m not a Melissa McCarthy fan, because a lot of her movies look like she’s doing a lame Chris Farley tribute act.

While I have defended the 2016 film to death (Yes, I actually liked it), I acknowledged that the movie had some issues. Either way, I am all for it. I will still watch it. While I would have also liked a follow-up to the 2016 film, I am also all for a long-overdue follow-up to Ghostbusters II.

Some dimension hopping would be fun.
Id love to see Kate McKinnon show up in the 1984 universe. She seeks out the the original team which is just Ray and Winston now. Peter plays a part in the movie as a ghost and they write off Egon saying he’s in space. They lead a new team stop a ghost rift from tearing all the different dimensions apart.
So Spider-Verse with Ghostbusters. I know they did something like this in the comics.

The big question is if they'll finally make a live-action Kylie Griffin in this movie.

If they'd made this 20 years ago, I'd have fought somebody to have Eliza Dushku as Kylie.
