Let’s not overlook how insanely good Julian Edelman is and has been. He’s going to be a pile of clueless mush by the time he hits 60, but he’s a freak Oh hell no, he's Brady's #1 receiving target for a reason. But you at least make sure he is covered by more than one guy, especially as he is going up the middle.

100%. The fact that it was Mahomes who didn't get a chance illustrates the problem, but it's a problem regardless of who it is. As fun as the idea of sudden death overtime is, I don't want a gigantic part of a huge game to be decided by an old man flipping some change. The Patriots were 3rd and 10 3 times during their OT drive. You want Mahomes to get the ball? Make a stop. The strength of both teams going into OT was their offense. I'd still have a problem with the OT rules if Mahomes got the ball and Brady didn't. I'm just not in favor of a coin flip giving such a large advantage in a win or go home playoff game. Any team would have to make plays regardless to win, but the advantage is unarguable.

The Patriots were 3rd and 10 3 times during their OT drive. You want Mahomes to get the ball? Make a stop. I'm with you on this. I never liked the old overtime rules, wherein a coin toss could literally be the deciding factor in a game - as a team would really only need to drive 40 or 45 yards to get into game-winning field goal range - but if you can't stop an offense from driving the length of a field for a touchdown when your back is to the wall, you don't deserve to win. Kansas City had their shots when they had a 21-17 lead with 7:45 remaining and a 28-24 lead with 2:03 remaining. They had three chances to come up big defensively (between those two fourth quarter drives and the one in overtime) and they couldn't make a single stop. Why should they be awarded another possession in overtime? And, as has been mentioned, they had New England to third and long THREE times on the overtime drive and couldn't make a play. That's deserving of another chance?

New England had a lead with 37 seconds left and couldn't hold it....it goes both ways.

New England had a lead with 37 seconds left and couldn't hold it....it goes both ways. And if the Patriots lost the coin toss and surrendered a 75-yard game-ending drive, I'd be saying "New England needs a better defense," not "New England needed another chance." I just don't understand how the takeaway from Sunday's AFC Championship Game is that Kansas City deserved another opportunity to possess the ball and not that Kansas City's defense surrendered 37 points and needs to get better if they want to get over the hump.

As the NFL rules continue to change and favor the offense more and more, it does need to be looked into. Those rules were fine when the league had average scores like 17-14.
It's not that game anymore, and if anyone thinks the team starting on defense has a fair chance they are fooling themselves.

Between the Saints fan with the whistle and this, I think the internet should stfu about going after the Patriots and Rams for the bad calls. Other teams and their cheating ass fans.
