Was not expecting that Echo track to be the first overall pick. Interesting. Are the judges free to post their personal lists? If they want to, sure.

So, first things first. Welcome to team Jazzman boys! We're going to win this thing, the winner of Fan Idol season 12 is on this team for sure.
Next: here's my Top 8 from last round. As I told Tyger, I did a little bit of shifting of picks because there were songs I just figured everyone was going to be high on. My top 2 were pretty well set, but 3-6 could have gone in any order if I'm honest. I ordered them in likelihood someone else was going to pick that song so that way I would have had it higher. It appears though that we all went different directions, or at least I was so different that I got 4 of my top 5.
1) Do It - Tuxedo: Was it the strongest song of the round lyrically? No. Did it have a funky cool baseline that had me toe tapping the whole time? Damn straight. Awesome funk riffs and great vibe made this an easy #1
2) Hurray For The Riff Raff - The Body Electric: Surprising cool vocal over a nice smooth acoustic backing. Some Norah Jones vibes here for me. Really strong choice. 3) Circles - Greta Sabo Bech ft. Ludovico Einauldi: I love Ludovico Einauldi, I could have swore I used one of his songs in a past season but looking at the list it was maybe happy thinking. Toss a cool vocal over top of his stuff, it was always going to be high for me.
4) Echo - Suntory Nomu: Full disclosure, back in the day I had picked a song by Casey and Jeff Williams, the music people behind the themes and music at Rooster Teeth and their anime RWBY. This reminded me of that and I thought, similar musical minds on this one I want that person.
5) Amarillo By Morning - George Strait: Growing up in Central New York and with a country loving momma, I was raised on stuff like this. I had to decide which country song I liked more, and seeing George show up meant that person knew their stuff. I liked the Dwight Yoakum pick too, but George is royalty to my family.
6) Jus Lyke Compton - DJ Quik: Bringing the rap fire! Someone who isn't afraid to stand out in the crowd. A bold bold pick that gets rewarded. The flow is nice and the beat pretty good. It made me want to check out more of DJ Quik, which is always a good sign.
7) Hyperballad - Bjork: It's Bjork, it's one of my favorite songs of hers. It's good, but with other songs I just enjoyed more it couldn't break into the people I really wanted on my team
8) Don't Want To Change Your Mind - FM-84: No offense, but this was best of the rest. I kinda dug it, but it was just kinda there. I'm happy it hit with some other judge, but it really wasn't my style.

Y'know who else was the seventh overall pick? That's right, Steph Curry with the shot boi. Let's go. I'll have my song in by the end of the weekend.
@irontyger, are group messages with the team/mentor permitted?

It makes sense for judges and players to consult with each other. I'll set up pm chains for discussion.

I’m super happy with my team, man. Couldn’t have worked out better!
Here’s what I sent to Tyger for my list...
I have to say, I thought this was a pretty good opener. Some really fun songs. I don't think there were any HORRIBLE songs. I definitely didn't feel every one of them, but I also didn't absolutely hate any of them. I had to really split some hairs and you know...if I were to give a second or third listen, I might have two more, slightly different lists. But this is what how I'd rank all 16...
1) Concrete Blonde - Joey - Really enjoyed the use of voice here. Haunting. Pleading. Pain. Empathy. Forgiving. I felt it.
2) DJ Quik - Jus Lyke Compton - f*** yes! Just...f*** yes!
3) Greta Svabo Bech ft. Ludovico Einaudi - Circles - Nice, subtle build. I was wondering where this was going. When she got there, I got goosebumps. I would have liked for her to hit one note hard there and then let it breathe, though, before picking it up back a little harder OR super soft. But I appreciate this pick a lot.
4) Metallica - Free Speech For The Dumb - The only bad part of this pick is that we (most likely) won't get another Metallica song during this game.
5) Sonia Leigh - Jack Is Back - This is dirty. THAT part of the beat and her swagger makes you do the face. You know the face...
6) Sublime - Badfish - I'm glad this was used, for multiple reasons. One - I'll always have a soft spot for Sublime. Two - I'm going to Cancun in August and the goal is to just relax by the water. While relaxing, I plan to just kick back, read, and listen to music. This will have to be on my playlist. It's crazy how such painful words can be so relaxing.
7) Pale Waves - Television Romance - Yeah, this is fun. Does some cool things and kept my attention.
8) Björk - Hyperballad - I think this song was ahead of its time, but I'm glad it was. I think it would have been lost in the shuffle had it been released in a later time period. I will always have respect for the risks Björk takes. I have a lot of nice things to say about this song, but I also wasn't really super invested in it. I appreciate it, but I just wasn't there with it.
9) FM-84 - Don't Want To Change Your Mind (feat. Ollie Wride) - I've always enjoyed this song. But I've always also forgotten about this song. That third quarter of the song is where it's at. Love that bit. However, I always felt like it should be built to a bit more. It could bring all the feels if the beginning was just a TAD slower. I don't know. But I did get to see a young Elisabeth Shue in the video. That's a huge plus.
10) Dwight Yoakam - Try Not To Look So Pretty- Just a pretty cowboy ballad. Some of those notes hit hard, some leave me wanting a little more. It's understated, but nice.
11) 燦鳥ノム【歌ってみた】- ECHO - This started off really fun and I was buying in. I think it got away from itself a bit there in the middle and it lost me for a while. It did come back, but it just never really hit that high point that I was hoping for. Still interesting.
12) Tuxedo - Do It - It's a toe tapper. I might even nod my head or shimmy a shoulder once or twice. But I'm probably not adding it to a playlist, unless I'm hosting a really long party and need A LOT of songs.
13) Hurray for the Riff Raff - The Body Electric - This is alright. Definitely didn't hate it, but I also never got to the point where I got legitimately invested. Some good stuff here, but just not enough.
14) Say Sue Me - B Lover - Fun. A bit repetitive, though. It starts in second gear, which is cool, but it mostly stays there. I actually think the last bit was my favorite part and I kind of wish it was somehow worked into the beginning.
15) Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet - There's really nothing wrong with this song. However, it's an overly used arrangement about an overly used topic. I don't hate it, but I won't remember it.
16) George Strait - Amarillo By Morning - By the time the tempo picks up, I had already checked out (of Amarillo?...no, I've never been). And when the tempo picked up, I wanted something different from the voice that I just didn't get.

Finally sent my songs and holy hell was it tough trying to figure out good ones.
And damn me for using a song a while back that would have been tempting for this round....
