Meltzer reports that Sydal is now a free agent and has contract offers from both All Elite Wrestling and WWE. There's apparently no word yet on Impact Wrestling coming to terms on a new contract with Sydal. As we previously noted, Matt Sydal was taken out of the Warrior Wrestling event earlier this month due to a knee injury. Sydal announced he scheduled knee surgery to repair some torn cartilage, however, Sydal later tweeted out that the original date of the surgery was postponed because of insurance issues. In another tweet, Sydal noted that he should be back in the ring by March or April www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/01/former-impact-titleholder-done-with-the-company-650249/

I am surprised he'd get one from WWE, but I mean, good on him.
I have cooled on him a lot, but given how shitty it was when he quite possibly got set up to lose the NJPW gig, this is good news for him.

My first response when I read the title was "good".
But once I read why and him having surgery and whatnot I changed it to "get better soon you little weirdo"

Even though he was a tag champion, I don't see him going back to WWE unless they stick him in NXT for a while.
With that being said, I see him as a surprise wrestler at AEW's Double Or Nothing event.

I figure he'd end up on 205, though I could see him having a stint in NXT if they were going to call up any of the NXT main eventers, to fill the gap for a bit. Though, not for long, since Richochet tends to be a better version of Sydal.

Hmm, I'd have thought that bridge to WWE was well and truly burned up like so much illicit drugs.
He'd have to proper toe the line if he ever goes back, because he's down two wellness strikes.

I think WWE only wants him so AEW doesnt get him. It like that little kid who hates a toy but only wants it so another kid dont get it.

Honestly I don't even understand why AEW would be interested in Sydal, much less WWE.

Honestly I don't even understand why AEW would be interested in Sydal, much less WWE. He's got a fanbase and all, but I can't picture him being like a major player for them if he goes there. PAC is just like, a better version of him in every respect. Then again, Ricochet is better than him, too, so WWE isn't a perfect option, either, though I'm sure he'd be put on 205, while Ricochet's probably destined for bigger things than that.

I dont want to sound negative, but Sydal is going to end up like Chris Sabin if keeps up getting injured like that.

He'd probably be good in 205 as a recognisable name, but he needs to pull an Ospreay and move to the ground more if he wants to keep going.

I wish him nothing but good health and happiness but after his general douchiness and delusions of grandeur of the last few years, I'm happy never seeing him on TV again.
So hoping he signs for AEW.
