Ehhhhh... I liked what I was seeing so far, but I’m not at all sure about this.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Ehhhhh... I liked what I was seeing so far, but I’m not at all sure about this. Wouldn't be the first time. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} It's neat enough if it's just an incidental detail. It could get real cringey, real quick if they draw attention to it and make a thing out of it.

And wouldn't you know it. The Snydercutters are crying about it.

Somebody added white eyes I think the final version will have some variation on them. I seem to remember reading that they wanted to animate his eye area like was done in Deadpool.

Is Batman gonna fight the Fiend? Batman will always be there to protect Gotham...all you have to do is...LET HIM IN. P.S. didn't Bray tweet something about wanting to be in this movie?

I like that it's actually a bit like medieval knight armor.

I would've preferred something less armory for a change, but yeah, looks good. Pattinson wears the cowl well. Ehhhhh... I liked what I was seeing so far, but I’m not at all sure about this. Probably best to just imply rather than emphasize it.

I'm on the side of just thinking that gun detail is really hokey and raises all kinds of questions about how he got his hands on the gun to do that with it. Maybe if it was that the bullets were used in it (though I'd still think it was too on the nose) but the gun itself just seems like a massive contrivance.
Not exactly going to make or break the movie though, pretty incidental really.

The symbol looks okay on this chest, but I don't like it by itself.

I believe he even mentions owning it in the '66 series.

All I could see on Twitter last night about Batman was the symbol being made of the gun that killed his parents. So everyone else made a thing out of it already. FYI, the Bat symbol is made of the gun that killed his parents.

I believe he even mentions owning it in the '66 series. In the most recent comic telling of it, I think he used an intermediary to buy it from some black market collector. He then melted it down so that the weapon that murdered his parents could be put to some good: putting it over his heart as a layer of armor. There was a great line about the thing that broke his heart as a kid being there to protect his heart as an adult.

I have no idea what Batman Odyssey is about, but the best review I saw of it was: "It's got some amazing art by Neal Adams. Unfortunately, it's also written by Neal Adams, which leads to some... issues."

I saw someone (Brad the DC Universe Geek) have a take on the symbol I haven't seen other say, but could be interesting if true: that he thinks it's not guns, but possibly removable batarangs. That'd certainly be pretty unique, and I mean, it'd be one of the few times a Batman film or comic, etc, concerned itself with explaining where the hell the batarangs are coming from.
In any case, I find the design growing on me more and more.
