Why not to Mad Hatter for a movie He’s f***ed up enough to do a movie and still deliver the detective aspects He could be a pretty good change of pace. Kind of wonder if they were setting up Bane to be next with how Bruce seems to inject himself with Venom during the climax.

Tho you can call it adrenaline and have someone steal it to reinforce it and make it more deadly They really did set up a lot of Easter eggs for diff people to appear

I appreciated that while they focused on the detective aspect of Batman they did not make him some all knowing genius. Batman screwed up by not thinking if the murder weapon had any significance but Bruce Wayne should have had no idea what a carpet tool was. Whereas the comics or animated series would have had him recognize it right away because Batman has to know everything. In general it's kind of a refreshing take on things just because really when it comes down to it Riddler's just flat out smarter than he is. It helps put over that this is a more inexperienced Batman that the entire time he's a step behind and never really knows what the villain's actually doing, and when he does manage to work it out it's too late to entirely stop him. I dont think Riddler was smarter than Batman so much as he expected Batman to be smarter. The carpet tool was meant to be a clue for Batman to find his plan much earlier as he believed Batman to be on his side. He wanted Batman to figure out his clues but they were too obscure to be noticed easily. I mean if Riddler was so smart he would not have taken those pictures of the club from his apartment. If one person had decided to investigate where the pictures were taken it would all have been over like that. In some Batman media Batman would have recognized not only that it was a carpet tool but who made it and where. So a Batman that not only does not know what it is but completely misses looking into why an unusual item like it was used as a murder weapon is refreshing. I am tired of god tier Batman.

I thought that was just adrenaline. It was technically to be written that way but it can easily be set up as a venom drug. I don’t think you make it that green if you don’t want to it to be looked at later

Watched it tonight. Been looking forward to it for ages but just flat out said nope when I found out the length lol
Really enjoyed it. Riddler costume was different. Still not sure how I feel about it either way. Patterson looking so young was kinda distracting at first but I got used to it…..except when he had the emo hair going on ha. I was begging him to push that hanging hair to the side lol
I knew Colin Farrell was penguin to begin with but man that make up was really good
And yeah I liked it being a bit more detective based
One thing though this might just be because I grew up on it but I am way past the “grounded, realistic” take on characters
Give me a penguin who lives underground, controls an army of killer penguins and goes “It could be worse, my nose could be gushing blood” and I’ll eat that up
If I’m being completely honest, I’d probably rank it behind Batman, Returns and TDK just for my own preferences but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it was a really fun film with a great take in the character

And if they ever do a Babylon 5 remake, there is your Councilor Molari, right there.

Unless he's battling a time-traveling alien robot then don't bother me.

Ended up liking the first one a lot but I do definitely hope he takes some of the criticisms of it to heart for the sequel. Offhand could definitely stand to shave off some time, and also would be nice if he could keep the villain more consistent this time instead of the way Riddler's motivation shifts at the last minute in the first one entirely to justify an action setpiece climax.

First one had a lot going for it and def interested to see what happens I assume Joker be involved somehow but they could def stand to add more villains. I assume if they going to give someone a spotlight as well. Scarecrow could get another run. Wouldn't mind seeing a f**ed up more gritty version of Mad Hatter

Wouldn't mind seeing a f**ed up more gritty version of Mad Hatter Honestly, I'd much rather they kept the Joker's presence to that cameo in the first movie. Between Monaghan's Joker-in-All-but-Name, Leto's clusterf***, and Phoenix's Joker-in-Name-Only and the fact that none of them hold a candle to any of Mark Hamill's performances in animation and video games the last 30 years, I'm super burned out on Joker, and I'm really not crazy about the design they went with either.

Hmm I never even considered Tim Roth for that type of role and he would be great Mad Hatter is completely f***ed as a character and you can do a lot with him that would no doubt make him a menace as a villain in regards to the main thread They got a few they really haven't touched movie wise but something in the game like Firefly, Calendar Man, Zasaz, etc.. who could work as background villain characters to build up like they did Penguin in the recent movie and Zasaz counts for Arkham TV series

Agreed. I only assume they involve Joker just cause of the cameo but the character is def burnt out. Just use the cameo as acknowledgment and move on since you really don't need him when you can prop up many more characters into the killer role like you did Riddler. That musical they doing next will either burn Joker for the next 10 years or continue to build upon him. I know I have no interest in watching it tho. It could probably be great but making it a musical is a big meh for me
