I hope they aren't gonna try and directly compete with one another timeslot wise. AEW I feel needs to set its foundation and now swing out of the gate... SmackDown's moving to Fridays. Yeah they are waiting for Smackdown to move which is smart so they can solid take Tuesday without ever dealing with a WWE show. Why is Oct and not like this Summer.

Also gives them enough time to get everything sorted out and build their reputation and fanbase before going onto television. It seems like a less conventional approach then getting something on TV ASAP but for promotions that have leapt to TV and floundered, it's probably a way better approach.

Very true but regardless, it still impressive enough that they got a deal on such a big network regardless if it's TBS or TNT when others can't not named WWE. I know Impact as a lot to do with burning a big bridge in Spike but been shopping for a few years for something bigger. You look at ROH not even sure if they tried for anything bigger, and MLW even. While BeIn Sports seems to be a good working partner for MLW still not in a ton of house holds or when you think about GFW that Jarrett spend over a year trying to sell that set of TV taping and went nowhere.

ROH is pretty much staying where it is as long as Sinclair owns them as a company so they're out of that bracket. But yeah, if it all goes the way it does, getting on either network (and with things going the way they are with Family Guy on TBS, they could spring up as an option again over TNT but who knows?) then it'll be a major platform for wrestling for the first time since TNA with Spike.

Don't want to make a separate thread on this mostly because I can't really provide a link to it because I'm not an Observer subscriber, but seen some talk saying PAC might've gotten hurt.

Debuting in October is more than just a good way to avoid competing with Smackdown; anyone who's just going to up and take them now on a whim probably isn't someone they want to be committing to. Getting onto a network willing to debut them as a piece of their fall season line-up rather than some mid-season/post-season addition means they're making a strong deal that can get all that "New this season" promotion when it's most hot. Compare it to TNA moving constantly in Januaries to new networks and how cold those premieres tend to be.

From the latest Road to Double or Nothing, the battle royale seems to be a mix of freelancers and contracted AEW talent as MJF’s thrown his hat into the ring to win.

Allie is not the best in ring talent you'll see but shes great in terms of character. However I do see Allie doing the job to Brandi, ugh.

I guess they are going for Harper? They need a couple of more heavyweights and also more tag teams
Good news about giving more depth to the Women division, should try to also bring luchadoras like Hiedra, Keyra, Shani. Hyped for the TV deal announcement.

Wardlow isn't a bad get as far as big indie hosses go. I don't think he'll be putting on any five-star classics, but he isn't terrible either. He also has the best worst nickname ever - "The Man With 'War' in His Name."

Still better than Viking Experience lol. I only hope AEW didnt sign Aries, that would bring bad stigma to the company. Imagine if he appears at DoN, he would get instant xpac heat.

Luchasaurus would be a good signing, bit surprised no one has picked him up over the past year. Though I wonder if he'll ever go back to his real name as a wrestler
Aries though, is not someone who's going to play ball the moment things don't go his way

Looking for Hosses eh? Wonder if they'll give Da Hit Squad a look for the tag division.

Da Hit Squad still around? I thought Homicide basically had Dan Maff blacklisted.

He's talented but the gimmick screams local Indy. Surely Aries has been to every last chance saloon going? I can't see what he brings to the table that they haven't already got.

Does anyone know Brian Cage's and Willie Mack's contract situations? They're probably two of the more recognizable indie hosses I can think of.
