Cody vs Dustin would be more suitable with a stipulation, like a street fight tbh. I also cant forget their horrible Fastlane match.

I guess I can understand why people wouldn't be so into Cody v. Dustin... but damn if that wasnt a classic hype package. It's building a feud based off of emotion and story. Not to mention, a REAL story. This isn't your WWE "you stole my woman" kind of lame Hollywood script writer shit.
I'm stoked for the show, and for the first time since 2001, I'll be purchasing a PPV. This is all I have been wanting since WCW shut down. Wrestling.. presented as wrestling, and they're on a grand stage at that. So stoked.

Apparently Wade Barrett (Stu Bennett) is going to be involved with AEW and be at Double or Nothing, unclear if it will be as a wrestler or something else, I would assume as a wrestler, but since he's good pals with Cody this isn't a shock.
His announcement was made today but has since been removed from their social medias, assuming because they wanted todays focus to be Cody vs Dustin

I'm calling hoax right now. The first image I saw with Bennett (may be different than the one you just posted, cant be bothered by going back to look at it since I'm on my phone) had something like #codyvsbennett or #americannightmare or some shit. I dont think as of right now he's involved. But this is wrestling, so who knows.

I'm down for the match, for sure. Honestly more interested in this than I'd have been in Bennett for this go-round.

The Cosmic Wasteland returns. Would love to see him getting involved in some BTE shenanigans considering how entertaining he and Cody were together on things like the JBL And Cole Show.

To add on to my post above..
In all honesty, Dustin deserves to get to do a match where he isn't bogged down by the Goldust character. Yes, it was successful, but not to the level that he and others probably wanted. He chose to leave the Rhodes name behind, and he carved his own path giving 30 or so years to the business.
Everyone that's hating on this bout is talking about the workrate.. newsflash, it's a work. Tell me a story, show me emotion. I'd rather see Cody and Dustin get some color in a brawl than watch Cody do choreography with some guy wearing trunks and kick pads any day of the week.
Does it have to be anyone's favorite matchup? No. But AEW needs our grassroots support to thrive in a wrestling world that is ran by a total monopoly. They're already doing more than damn near any promotion since 01, so what's the harm in just taking in what they're putting out?

The match might not be any good, but I'll be damned if the hype video didn't make me excited anyway.

Given how much WWE can often, though to their credit far from always, choke the life out of a match and it's presentation, they would have to really try their hardest to have something that WASN'T better than their WWE match. I mean, Kofi shows that WWE can still deliver meaningful moments, but they just as often choke the life out of matches by screwing up the booking and presentation. At least on the latter, there are few people better at it today.
Cody got people to care, even if it was openly temporary, about Nick Aldis and the NWA title in 2018. I can buy that he can make this feel special, especially after than fantastic hype video.

I thought Goldie was still under WWE contract. Well, he probably was a few weeks ago when he barked on twitter that he was still in WWE. During the 90 day no compete you're still "under contract"

I don't know when his contract ended. If his contract ran out there would not be a non-complete period.

I think Dustin was probably working people, which, honestly, fair play. We can't all be Tom Holland and just give away info every time people ask him stuff.

That Dustin Rhodes video has done more to get me interested in AEW as a whole than anything they have done thus far. If that is the kind of production and storytelling we will get from the company I am super down.

If his contract ran out there would not be a non-complete period. From what I’ve heard, when he denied it he was still under contract, but it was known that his contract was expiring late April, early May. So he wasn’t lying, but he also wasn’t gonna go into detail about his contract.

The question was something like, "I thought he was under contract?", so I said he probably was when he said that.

An early test of AEW's structural durability - Will Cody book himself and his brother in a self-indulgent, forty minute saga of false finishes, 'brutal' brawling and increasingly exhausted lungs? I'm guessing not. I doubt Dustin can go for more than about ten or fifteen minutes at a decent tempo, and I'm sure both he and Cody are aware of that. They surely have to know that they can tell a great story in less tha 15 minutes and other stuff should get the time.

Honestly, Cody vs Magnus, and all the stuff around it ("historic matchup", Cody being in tears, the overbooking, and so on) were probably my least favorite part of All In. So if Cody tries to make this one another epic family-themed match with way too much overdramatic moments & overbooking, I'm not sure I'll be on board with his vision for AEW.

Every time I see something just calling him "Dustin" I keep thinking Cody is about to have a match with Chuck Taylor
