Yeah, and since the dismissal of Marchi's lawsuit was done in regards to the TCPA (Texas Citizens Participation Act) and its anti-SLAPP protections, it's essentially the same as a dismissal with prejudice.

And now apparently these idiots are talking about trying to make sure the judge loses his next election. Note that this would depend on, 1), these people remembering to do this in 2022, 2), enough of them living in this one area to meaningfully impact the election results, and 3), someone running against him which the past two elections no one has.
Also, someone did the math and it's actually pretty damn likely Vic is going to end this whole endeavor having gone bankrupt. As it is he has to pay his own legal fees, all of Marchi's fees, at the very least partial fees for everyone else involved (with potentially full ones, which would be MUCH more than Marchi's because of being more serious accusations), and the SLAPP sanctions, all while as he's been unable to demonstrate damages even if he does win he isn't going to get a dime for it.

I just don't get it. I mean, I get that the guy is a creeper who uses his minor celebrity to get away with doing awful stuff. What I don't get is this little army of internet weirdos who support him to the ends of the earth. It's not even the "I love his work even if the guy is terrible" thing that you'll see in regards to big Hollywood people. These supporters are seemingly convinced that he has done nothing wrong and that everybody is just out to get him/just way too sensitive, brah.
And why? Because he's good at *dubbing* anime? Guess that does make a little bit of sense. The people who continue to support him with their effort and wallets are the same people who don't like having to read subtitles.

It's the culture wars; his stans (well the ones that aren't people that love Full Metal Alchemist) are siding with him because of the usual Me Too bullshit where they think the woman is always making false accusations and that people are just jealous. Never mind the fact that he's been known as a douchebag for a long time and ignoring his mother helping groom teenage girls.

Never underestimate the hill people are willing to die on because of "talent." I remember back when the Benoit incident happened and some were convinced that he could never do it but were positive Hogan, Cena, or Triple H could have. All because of "workrate."

And then there’s the other supporters, whose support for Vic just boils down to certain things I can’t really go into detail without breaching board rules.

Yeah, there were some downright disturbing comments when the Benoit stuff happened. I get having a hard time processing it, I know I did, but some of the denial and excuses were insane.

Oh for the love of god....it just keeps getting worse.
Because I, and many sane and/or logical people, don’t watch Nick Rekieta’s livestreams, we didn’t know about this, but apparently on the June 3 Rekieta stream, Ty Beard’s dumbass mused/threatened that if anyone threatened his chance to make a living like Vic’s victims were doing to him, he’d take a gun and place it between their eyes and pull the trigger.
That shit sound familiar to anyone after the last few days?!

What wrestler would be the best comparison to Vic in this? I feel like it's not a proper FAN discussion without that element.

The dullards are apparently yelling at the judge on their Facebook page, which won’t end well for them. When trying to get away with death threats maybe don't threaten anyone who works in law, especially not with text evidence

These court proceedings have made me believe his victims even more.
Getting away with sexual assault and having legions of fans blindly believe whatever he says must make vic feel pretty goddamn invincible. That type of mindset is what it would require to think he would be able to win not just an already flimsy lawsuit, but with a really terrible(and shady) lawyer and not even showing up to the court dates. It takes somebody he feels untouchable to think they can get away with it.

It takes somebody he feels untouchable to think they can get away with it. I think he knew he'd lose and never wanted to go to trial, but, once the fanboys raised legal funds, he had to. He couldn't back away by saying he didn't think he'd win in court, because his fans REALLY did not want to hear that, so to court he went, and to the shitter, his reputation. He did more to damage his reputation than anyone else would have dreamed here.

And like any good cult (of personality) leader, Vic Mignogna used his charm and charisma to groom his stans to be fanatics. That's why they're so ride or die with him. And then you have the second group made up of Youtube grifters and their culture warrior followers who want to stick it to the "es jay dubyas."

At the end of the day, how much money are we talking about here? Is he living so large off voice acting it’s worth more to pursue this nonsense than to quietly shuffle off and look for a new job?
