Feel like this is going to lean too far into intentional comedy to really bother with, but I dunno, there is still some definite charm there.

I busted up laughing at "oh water look at that!"
My biggest fear is the charm with The Room was that it took itself as a serious film and that's part of what made it hysterical. If Tommie is trying to make a bad movie for the sake of getting a few laughs, then it's going to lose the magic The Room had. We'll have to wait and see.

Yea if this is made with the intention of being a bad movie it wont have the same charm , The Room was hilarious because it was a movie intended to be serious and ended up being a hilarious trainwreck.

Yea if this is made with the intention of being a bad movie it wont have the same charm , The Room was hilarious because it was a movie intended to be serious and ended up being a hilarious trainwreck. In James Franco’s foreword of ‘The Disaster Artist’ he pretty much says this. Because of how ‘The Room’ turned out and was received, any film eTommy Wiseau makes has to live up to the badness of ‘The Room’. As a result, he might make it intentionally bad as he knows this is what people want. In doing so, it loses part of the appeal BECAUSE it’s been made to be bad. Good on Greg Sesteros for getting involved, though. Without Tommy Wiseau, he might just be another struggling actor.

This looks like the wrong kind of bad.
If you want a newer Weisau/Sestero Film, Best F(r)iends hit the right balance of trying to be serious and Tommy being Tommy.
(Though I only say part 1, and forgot to order my ticket for the weekend showing of Part 2)
