Live action would kill the entire aesthetic.
They're gonna do it.

Eventually Disney will run out of live action movies to do and will have to do a live action version of A Goofy Movie. ......................

Seriously, Disney. Remake. Things. That. Need. It. Black. Cauldron. Is. Right. There. And. The. Original. Wasn't. That. Great. Soooooo.... It really wasn't. I remember being a kid and this was the first movie that I was really excited about. Saw it in the theaters, loved it but was done with it shortly thereafter. It holds a weird place in my nostalgia, but I've never gotten other people's appeal to it. It's not a great movie, it's not terribly re-watchable. It seems to be most of it is simply the aesthetic.

Surely there's some obscure Fox animation or something. Or maybe do a live action Droids series? You couldn't eff it up worse than Solo. Assuming they still have the rights, anyway. Black Cauldron's not their IP unless they outright bought it from Lloyd Alexander.

Which is actually what a certain now-controversial online critic said. Think either nostalgia or curiosity is what built it's reputation.

I've been saying for a while I'd love to see a big budget musical stage version of Nightmare, but a Disney remake I'm cold on.
Unless, of course, they cast Doug Jones to be Jack, then all bets are off.
