...why not? Isn’t it good that Rousey looks like a killer for the time being? Riott can always be built back up. To be fair, I do think there's a way to make Ronda look like a killer and have Ruby look good at the same time. Eh, in this case I think it’s sometimes better to let a babyface (not talking about Becky, Charlotte is the only heel in the main angle now) run roughshod for a while, especially if they’re heading towards a marquee match. I was reminded of how Asuka debuted and Emma, a midcard wrestler back then, give her a hard time at a moment where Asuka should have looked more dominant. I like Riott generally, but I don’t feel she’s going to be hurt too badly by Rousey dominating her at this point of her run on the main roster. I would have been more upset if Riott had been prepped for a main event spot over the last month or so, as that would have been a true waste of a push. But Riott doesn’t have a major push to mishandle at the moment, if that makes sense.

WM is getting close and the whole build is base on Ronda being an invencible force, not the best time to have her show too much weakness

Watching this with friends who are experienced workers, the general consensus seemed to be exactly this 100% - Ronda quickly changed position during the actual blow instead of just letting Becky aim where she originally was. from the footage I saw, it appears after the first hit ronda went down to her knees so due to positioning becky wasn't able to swing at ronda's beck (becky was slightly in front of rousey and rousey was facing her) so she aimed for the midsection. then in the middle of the swing ronda ducked her head into the swing and got caught there instead of her midsection. all becky could really do at that point was try to pull the swing. This was a mistake on Ronda's part, and all Becky could possibly do was decide in a fraction of a second to pull the blow.

Alvarez broke this down last night and said Ronda getting hit was all Ronda's fault and not Becky's. When you're hitting your opponent you look for an area to aim towards so the other wrestler prepares themselves. Ronda on the other hand was selling so f***ed up that her body was all over the place and she ended up moving incorrectly which is why Becky hit her those few times. Had Ronda sold correctly that wouldn't have happened. It's all on her.

That was just the second shot before she started rolling around on the mat. She had plenty of time to aim and size it up. It was pretty reckless.

When i said you look for an area you aim towards I forgot to add in the fact that the seller presents a body part for you to aim at. Like say people are getting hit in the back by a chair, you get in position for your back to get hit and then the wrestler with the chair hits your back. Ronda in the part you're referring to got in position to where her head would be hit due to her selling when Becky was swinging the same way as before. So from Becky's position you aim at Ronda's back and swing a particular way, Ronda sells it and then puts her head in that same exact position with her selling. That's going to tell you to aim at the spot she wants you to aim or well it should if you know how to sell. Afterwards Ronda kept twisting and changing positions so Becky's seeing different spots she thinks Ronda wants her to hit which is where the mishap occurs. Basically if Ronda were more experienced this wouldn't happen but she's new so it is what it is. It's one reason why Charlotte was the better seller between the two because Charlotte was protecting herself in the middle of that. Ronda was either flailing around or in the wrong position and she got clipped.

Ya know she's totally gonna use it at Mania. I seriously want Becky to bust out a piledriver. I immediately imagined Mr. Incredible saying "what about Piledrivers" and Edna going "No Piledrivers!" Then he mutters something about them being cool and we see a montage of all the necks broken by piledrivers and Edna finishes with "No Piledrivers!"

I agree the wiggling around and changing angle was a bad idea afterwards and she should have presented her back to her but I still think that first shot to the face was on Becky too. I have the network up now and yeah Ronda shouldn't have turned around to begin with (and she even put her head down which pushed her face right into it. Ouch.) but Becky saw she was facing her and still swung. I'm not a ring general or anything but she should have probably waited a second longer to aim properly and been extra careful since Ronda is so inexperienced. I did see Ronda saying she loved getting that weapon beat down from Charlotte so she probably enjoyed it anyway haha.

Oh yeah people should not get it mistaken, I doubt Ronda is bitching in the back about taking that shot. She no doubt loved that shit and probably told Becky, you know you going get one back later right in a playful mood. Ronda, like Brock, like Shayna, the MMA fighters just like that physical contact and get amped off that shit

I thought it was awesome. And I don’t. Think anyone will be upset about the hot to the head. Rhonda has for sure been cracked in the head harder than that before. And it added realism and drama. The blood was a great visual. I think it was great

Can't deny that the awkward brutality of the beating worked in the segment's favor though, like Becky getting busted open before Survivor Series did. Probably not a good idea to do that type of thing on purpose if that's the case, but still. I loved when Ronda grabbed the other crutch just to shield herself from Becky's swings, it was a really great show of vulnerability.
