Punisher was awesome. Jon Bernthal killed that role. Jessica Jones was fun in season one, but season two sucked hard.

Why would anyone even bother with season 3 of Jessica Jones now that it's already been cancelled? I know, right? It's like why I don't watch movies. They're over after a couple of hours and then what's the point?

I refuse to watch TV shows anymore until they've wrapped with a proper ending.

Whoever wrote that must get a bonus every time he uses the term "the streamer".

I am disappointed that we didn't get a proper Jigsaw and Barracuda. That's why I took a small bit if joy seeing that bouncer in the first episode of season 2 kicking ass because that might be the closest we get to seeing Barracuda.

I refuse to watch TV shows anymore until they've wrapped with a proper ending. We of the modern era are spoiled with proper series finales. SO many TV shows back in the day that ran a long time just.....ended. Just like that. As a surprise to the showrunners as it was to the audience.

Isn't Disney launching their own on-demand streaming service? Might be wrong here, but I wouldn't be surprised to see all these shows renewed once that starts up. Disney+ is apparently going to be family friendly content only.

There’s no way Netflix lets them restart the series at Hulu without a fight if it’s in the contract. If they can work their way around it being able to use just the characters, I say we’re going to get Heroes For Hire.

Honestly, I'm okay with this. Netflix for me personally has so much content at any given point that I enjoy that it won't exactly deny me a use of my Netflix account and if I'm being blunt...
I liked the shows, specifically I think the lead-up to and the season of The Defenders are all really strong, after that point it gets a little muddled in terms of quality but...
The Netflix shows, after Daredevil S1, always felt a little bit like a step backwards in terms of the progress Marvel has made when it comes to live action adaptations. They were good, but they had a tinge of that old 2000's "we're kind of ashamed we're based off of comic books and are going to tweak things because of that to make it more gritty" feel. Some more than others. They needed to embrace the strange and weird elements of the Marvel universe like much of the MCU has, rather than riding the line of having a little bit of it (The Hand's resurrection power) but being too scared to go full hog with it. And I think the shows started suffering a little when the creative parties were arguably maybe stretched a little thin across all of the five shows.
I think another thing that hurt it in the long run was the Netflix shows didn't do what has been a strength of the Marvel movies, shift focus. Sure, they had five shows, but I think it would've made their television universe even stronger if they had maybe spread their attention out further across the Marvel universe. Do the first seasons of the Defenders members, then shift focus, pull a Guardians of the Galaxy or Black Panther and do a Moon Knight show, or a Ghost Rider show, or a She-Hulk courtroom drama show, pretty much any lower level Marvel hero they could manage to do. Get really expansive, take risks, and keep writers who work and get rid of writers that don't, have people shift projects if need be (to prevent stretching them even thinner than they were), hell, maybe even specifically find people that are passionate about the show and see it as a passion project or have an idea.
Another aspect that I think stifled them was the stupid bad blood that brewed between the MCU and the Netflix MU higher-up's. The idea of the shows being connected to the movies and sharing a universe was brilliant. Let it be that. Don't turn it into a weird pissing contest.
I am a little sad to see them go, but if this means better content in the future from Marvel's television division than I'm willing to part with these characters. It was fun, but every ride's got to end sometime.

I thought both seasons of the punisher were excellent. Can’t see it having trouble getting a green light elsewhere.
