Hey, everyone likes how EC3, Heavy Machinery, Lacey Evans, Lars Sullivan, and Nikki Cross don't even slightly matter, right? WELL HAVE SOME MORE!
I'm sure what everyone envisioned as the perfect debut for Aleister Black is being beaten up by Elias in front of a dead crowd while Cole talks about how it's not a phase, Mom.

Highlighting the issues with the product, calling dudes up with no direction so they flop and it solves absolutely nothing except bloating your already underutilized roster all the further.
This company is depressing, they can't do a thing right.

What better way to deal with a selection of top prospects than to botch them in quick succession. Is Vince just f***ing with everyone now? It came off like everyone but Ricochet's segment was designed solely to take the shine off of them.

Again, this wasn’t their official debut though. It was legitimately just a one time thing until they make their actual callup. They’re not really going to take away two of their top champions so quickly.
Ricochet got the crowd going, as did DIY. When they wrote this show, I highly doubt they envisioned the crowd to suck that much.

I'm a big Aleister Black fan. I'd go as far as to say he's one of my favorites.
But as easy as it should be for him to get over on the main roster, it's also easy to f*** him up and that wasn't a great start to his main roster tenure. From Cole talking over his entrance about how BROODING and GOTH he is, him cutting an unnecessary promo and Elias dominating the start of the match, that wasn't it chief. Luckily, the crowd dug him (well, as much as that crowd could've dug anything anyway).

That was so strange. There are already so many people lost in the shuffle, why add more to it?

They all got wins and looked strong, plus got their shit in. Let’s please not turn this into a “VINCE HATES THESE GUYS AND INTENTIONALLY PUT THEM THERE TO FAIlL.” Because again, I doubt they envisioned the crowd to suck so hard.

I have a hunch that this was their way of reminding the AEW-bound fanbase that there's an alternative available under the WWE umbrella that's pretty highly regarded. It was all about promoting NXT tonight.

We've seen some crazy things this past decade but I've never seen them blow their post-WM load in a random Raw after Elimination Chamber. That was all of their debuts and they're all gone down the drain to not only a boring crowd but gone down the drain in the worst way possible. DIY were somehow faces and they barely got a reaction in that match, Black was struggling given how that match was setup, like Ricochet was the one who came out of it best but at the same time that's only because he was teaming with Balor who's still really popular. You've got Lacey doing God knows what and now Heavy Machinery dancing around her like she's some sort of spiritual artifact. This wasn't good at all.
This was stupid.
Oh, and Lars Sullivan is still on hiatus? I completely forgot about him until a few minutes ago.

Again, this wasn’t their official debut though. I mean, by all signs it was given they planted seeds for stuff between DIY and Roode & Gable and had Ricochet talking about how he'd finally made it on Raw.

I don't mean Vince is intentionally setting them up to fail, I mean they're so bad at actually presenting people that it comes off like it if only because the scale of incompetence is baffling. Alistair Black should be straight murdering a dude. Just kicking his head off and laying waste to him. DIY showing up with no reason and no story to have a random match with their old foes would be poetic if said old foes hadn't been treated like jokes for all but the past three weeks of their time on the main roster. I definitely think a dead crowd did them no favours, but none of this was presented well. Know what you do? You announce it for next week and run some video packages on Raw showing these guys off. Let them cut a quick promo, show off some highlights, maybe even run a quick retrospective of the history between DIY and The Revival. Putting them in cold like they did is not presenting them well in the damn least.

Ricochet also said “this isn’t the last you’ve seem of me.” Probably meaning that he’ll get called up eventually, just not now. They planted seeds, yes, but there’s no way they’re taking two of NXTs champions and putting them on Raw. Absolutely no way.

When they wrote this show, I highly doubt they envisioned the crowd to suck that much. They should’ve. Lafayette just isn’t the kind of town to do something like this. A small portion of their audience watch NXT. I realize you can’t save everything for the Raw after Mania. But they damn well know what towns are likely to make a soft landing spot for new talent. And friggin’ Lafayette ain’t one of them. In the long run, it’s not a big deal. But toninght was a flat out bad idea.
