Gargano and Ciampa getting 0 reaction when their namebars were being read out was the most hilarious shit ever. I've never felt so in tune with a crowd in my life.

Again, this wasn’t their official debut though. It was legitimately just a one time thing until they make their actual callup. They’re not really going to take away two of their top champions so quickly. Ricochet got the crowd going, as did DIY. When they wrote this show, I highly doubt they envisioned the crowd to suck that much. They should’ve. Lafayette just isn’t the kind of town to do something like this. A small portion of their audience watch NXT. I realize you can’t save everything for the Raw after Mania. But they damn well know what towns are likely to make a soft landing spot for new talent. And friggin’ Lafayette ain’t one of them. In the long run, it’s not a big deal. But tonight was a flat out bad idea. There's cities that are great for a surprise call-up even without a post-Big 4 crowd. A smarkier town that is known to be a stronger market can make a much better first impression. Know what their March Raw dates are? Philly, Pittsburg, Chicago, and Boston. Any of those cities would be a great place to have a familiar crowd blow the roof off for these guys. This comes off like a weird decision Vince made out of nowhere and he decided it had to be now right now not any time other than now, and everyone has to suffer for it.

Ciampa shoulda read Avengers Endgame spoilers to the crowd for HEAT while he and Johnny have matching Batman v. Superman gear to show off their darker characters.

I felt a little bad for Dream at first when he was excluded from this. Now I feel worse for Aleister and DIY. That crowd, ugh.

In funnier news, Lard Bulliban was supposed to appear before all these people.
Now he's been passed by nine other NXT people.

While I agree that Layfayette isn’t the place to debut them, I doubt they actually knew how dead this crowd was going to be. Triple H had to take a breathe in order for an NXT chant to come out of that crowd. This wasn’t intentional, just poorly timed.

Ciampa looked like such a damn puppet patting himself on the back when the crowd wasn't responding. Shit was sad.
Bitch sit down, nobody in that crowd watching you showboat before a commercial break lol.

To think after the RR I actually considered buying the network.

My friend’s GF designed Aleister’s jacket so that’s really my highlight of the night.

It's fascinating when I hear about how psychotic these Louisiana crowds were back in the Mid-South days and then see crowds like Lafayette tonight. I've often thought these LA crowds are deader than disco.
That said, the DIY/Revival match was odd to do right now anyway. There was no face team in it really, so the crowd was just baffled. If you've been watching NXT you know that Ciampa and Gargano are still at odds with each other and wouldn't be teaming. The other matches were kinda bleh in terms of debuting people. Ricochet stood on the apron for most of that match and hit some routine high flying stuff, certainly not as impressive as he can be. And Black largely got beaten up by Elias in boring fashion.
The problem is that all of the guys in WWE that can get over newer talent are all on SD: Bryan, AJ, Rey, etc.

The show honestly wasn’t even that bad, but it was just sort of there? I truly don’t know how to explain it, but it really wasn’t bad IMO, aside from maybe two dud segments. The crowd did them no favors whatsoever.

They are all going to struggle and its quote clear the casual audience dont give a damn about any of them. Baffling decision.

I’m sure it’s a baffling decision to them in hindsight, but I honestly think they thought that crowd wasn’t going to be as dead as it was. Plus, one night on a random Raw is surerly not going to be the falling point for any of them. Just like having Sami or Neville on Raw wasn’t a falling point for them either.

I can’t believe Black got like no response.
As soon as Cole called him “moody” I knew he was f***ed. The whole tirade my the commentary team made him lose all his cool.

Which, to me, isn’t really a bad case because aside from the heavy machinery bit and maybe the Boss/Hug promo, the show really wasn’t bad. The crowd though, my god did it suck the life out of me lmao
