Maybe, he could easily claim plausible deniability that he didn't know there was trafficking unless he was actually in on it. Be pretty hard to prove he knew even if common sense dictates he would. They're not charging him with anything to do with being involved with human trafficking. The only known charges are misdemeanors for soliciting a prostitute. And since they apparently have video of him paying for sex acts, that's going to be pretty hard to deny.
Unfortunately a lot of prostitution, even in the places where it is legalized and supposed to be regulated, is usually a front for human trafficking. These johns either don't know or don't really care, even if they're not actively involved in the trafficking.

Right, I was responding to him being 'done' in regards to trafficking. He's not gonna be touched there.

I'm just so angry and disappointed. He's a billionaire and he gets caught in a skevy cheap ass "massage parlor" in a strip mall? He sullied his hard earned reputation for that? As BRV posted earlier Robert Kraft is a hero around these parts. Not only did he save the Patriots from moving to St. Louis but he helped turn what was once a joke of a franchise into the NFL's Gold Standard. Not only that but he's also been a huge part of the community and has given millions to various charities over the years. He should go down as one of the greatest owners in all of sports. But sadly, outside of New England this is what he may be remembered for. Unless anything else comes out, I suspect that Kraft will face a similar punishment that Colts owner Jim Irsay got for his DUI arrest, a 6 game suspension and a $500,000 fine. And while some may claim that's getting off light it will be a killer for Kraft. He loves the limelight. He loves the adulation. He loves to schmooze with fans and celebrities. He loves being the owner of the New England Patriots. I know he was so looking forward to carrying the Lombardi Trophy out on opening night as the team he grew up watching raises it's sixth banner under his ownership. Now it looks like he'll be watching that event from home. The good news is that I don't think it should effect the Patriots on the field. Jonathan Kraft has been running the Patriots day to day operations for years now (though Bob is still heavily involved) so the continuity should still be there. And we all know Belichick and Brady excel at shutting out distractions and remaining focused on the goal. Hell, this may be what fuels the Patriots to their 7th title. But today is just a sad day. It's just a damn shame that such a great man ended up embarrassing himself and the organization with such a thoughtless and stupid act. I just hope it doesn't overshadow all the good he's done.

Please let it be Brady and Bill. The way he was talking sounds like he doesn't mean, "Oh, there is another big football name to come out," but a broader acknowledgement of sex trafficking in southern Florida, basically saying, "Shit is f***ed up down there and a lot of really powerful people are engaging in some f***ed up shit." Which...we kinda already know. I mean, the entire saga of Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking ring and wrist-slap of a jail sentence from the Miami US Attorney just returned to the news yesterday, and, given Epstein's VERY high-profile friends (including two US presidents and a member of Britain's royal family), it seems like there are some...obvious threads at least for journalists, if not prosecutors, to pull on.

As long as an OJ’s former lawyer’s gets dragged to this shit I’m ok with that.

My prediction is that there will be a fine that he pays, and his name will vanish from further police press press conferences about the investigation.

Has he actually been arrested as the subject says? Everything I read says he's been named but arrest warrants haven't been made yet.

Please let it be Brady and Bill. I know that we are supposed to follow along the no-politics guideline the forum has mandated, but it would be the greatest thing ever if the Vice President of the United States was one of the people busted in this ring, because you can't get much higher than "Owner of one of, if not, the most successful NFL teams" in that list.

If a billionaire owner of the greatest nfl franchise ever isn’t the biggest name busted in the string operation, then influential politicians are involved for sure.

Really what makes this so interesting isn't what Kraft did, but how he did it. Old billionaires sleeping with prostitutes isn't anything unheard of, but going to a strip mall in a cheap and shady operation is pretty foolish. If he wants to engage with prostitutes, he has the money to bring them to his place and avoid getting caught. As far as whether he knew if there was human trafficking involved, that is so hard to prove that it is not happening. I think you are on the right path with Robert just handing over the position to his son to avoid any real problems for the Patriots organization.

Eh, it's not like he murdered somebody. But the people who trafficked in the prostitute(s) he solicited probably have. At best Kraft was blissfully ignorant of being complicit in the sexual slavery business, which I personally have a hard time believing.

Why are billionaires so stupid while committing crimes?

Why are billionaires so stupid while committing crimes? I don't know if it's so much stupidity as it is the (often justified) arrogance and confidence that they can get away with it.

Why are billionaires so stupid while committing crimes? Ego. Even if they're caught they know they will get off.

State Attorney for Palm Beach County press conference is on now. Funny how ESPN isn't showing it. 😏
And as I say that, they go to it. Haha.

Kraft is being formally charged with 2 counts of 1st degree solicitation, which are misdemeanors. But the second count could be treated in the same regard of a third degree felony.
State Attorney is making this about the victims of human trafficking and not any one perp in spite of the press members trying to divert this to being about just Kraft. Good. We need more advocates for the victims.
