Yeah, which is a bummer on the Ben front, and a little bit of a surprise on the Linda one considering she had/has something of a reputation of not being well-liked by former costars, as well as Kevin Smith saying in the past he regrets not casting Janeane Garafalo as the lead in Dogma. Guess something this big and serious is good for perspective. I think he said the Garofalo thing in the commentary, after a reached out, he even admitted the comment was dickish True, though admittedly, I do think Janeane would have done it very well.

Replacing Randall with a Redbox kiosk is f***ing hilarious and the best possible way to handle Jeff Anderson's absence. Oh, did Jeff Anderson and Kevin Smith have a falling out? That seems sadder than Smith/Affleck...

I loved both Clerks movies. That said, I thought 2 ended perfectly, plus I really didn't wanna see the 2 of them getting into shenanigans in their 40's.

I loved the hell out of Clerks 2 and love it more as as I get older.
"I'd buy the Quick-Stop and re-opening it myself! That's what *I'd* do! That's what *WE* should do!" That line changed my feeble clerk life.

That line changed my feeble clerk life. That whole movie changed my perspective on life. Like, I used to think I was supposed to be at a certain level in life at a certain age, but the message of the movie is to just do what makes you happy.

Clerks 2 was a great movie. It's also kinda sad for me driving down that strip of Route 35 they filmed for the opening montage and not seeing some of the things there anymore. Though the liquor store creepy clown sign is still there.

There was an issue where Anderson didn’t get paid for clerks 2 or something to that effect due to studio f***ery I think Kevin talked about it in one of his YouTube videos

The main cast all worked for points to keep the budget down. Weinsteins used every trick to claim the movie made no money so no one got paid. Bigger stars with more money for lawyers take the studio to court but little guys like them are just screwed. So Anderson refuses to work with the Weinsteins and no movie without them.

To be fair, Smith no longer has any association with the Weinsteins and this movie is being produced by Smith's own production company and Destro Films, with Universal and Saban distributing. Anderson also has never been shy of admitting he doesn't consider himself an actor and doesn't particularly enjoy it.

Yeah its just the reason he wont do Clerks 3 since the Weinsteins have the rights.

I can't believe how thin Kevin Smith is now. Jeez. Though after last year, I'm just glad he's still on this Earth. I wonder if that scare was the reason he started working on this or if it was something he had been working on for awhile. It was very much because of the heart attack. I listen to several of his podcasts, and he is pretty clear he loved all that came with getting as fat as he was and had no intentions of changing anything. He doesn’t even particularly enjoy his new lifestyle changes, but it was necessary for him to live.

I've met Walt a few times when I've gone to the Secret Stash as I think he still manages the store for Kevin. Nice guy.

Look at how freaking gorgeous Shannon Elizabeth still is. She hasn't aged a day in the last 20 years.
