Home openers for a majority of the league happen today, with the first games of the day starting in a few hours. Time this thread was created. Not to be "THAT GUY"... BUUUUUUUUT... Technically it's home openers for the minority of the league, since only a maximum of half of the league can be at home on any given day. Season opener for the majority of the league, however...

The Tokyo games just felt off, even though they count in the standings.
Sucks the Astros start their season in the worst stadium in all of baseball, but at least the food there won't kill you anymore.

Wong and Bader with back to back HRs, Miles looking good (outside that solo shot), and Fowler getting on base. Going good so far, hope Carp and Goldy get to put the ball in play sometime today.

deGrom already in midsession form:
6IP, 5H, 0ER, 1BB, 10K
Not to be outdone by Scherzer:
7IP, 2H, 1ER, 2BB, 10K
If the Mets pitching staff stay healthy (A tall order) the NL East is going to be a free-for-all.

I know it's only the first game of the season but this is not the performance I'd wanted to see from Sale after getting that contract.

The Yankees are just 3 outs away from having the most perfect opening day you can possibly hope for.

The one perk of being sick today was getting to watch the Mets game live.
This is the first time in a long time that I'm legitimately excited to watch the Mets. While they are definitely improved and have a decent chance to possibly get a playoff spot, I'm just happy that they look like they're going to be fun to watch again. If Spring Training and today was any indication, they have players who give a shit and are having fun. Even if they don't make the playoffs, I'm thinking it's going to be a year of positives.

Well, the season just started... but Jerry Dipoto is not finished! Another trade, acquiring catcher Tom Murphy from the Giants for minor league pitcher Jesus Ozoria. I guess Murphy will pair with Omar Narvaez on the big league club as David Freitas was optioned to Triple A.
