I actually prefer ThunderForce 3 to 4.
Some of the graphical tricks they pull in 4 kind of makes it harder to dodge shots than it should be (eg : the Sandstorm in the desert level).
I prefer ThunderForce AC/ThunderSpirits to both, though.

Being a snes kid at heart my knowledge of Mega Drive games is basically Streets of Rage, Sonic and Road Rash. What are the under-rated/obscure games that should be included like the equivalent of Snes titles such as Plok, The Firemen or Front Mission: Gun Hazard? If you're a Link to the Past fan, I'd highly recommend Crusader of Centy (Soleil in PAL regions, I think). You get Zelda-ish gameplay, as well as a very Atlus story that starts off cute, but really goes places. Great soundtrack and some fun aspects like that instead of Link's gadgets, every power you get is from recruited animals. You can have two out at once, so you can have a lot of fun finding combos. Well, not exactly an "Atlus Story", in the strictest sense. The game was developed by the same team that developed Ranger X for Sega (back when Sega and Atlus weren't the same company), and the game was published by Sega itself in Japan.

I was more meaning in terms of the kind of plots Atlus are often associated with, pretty heavy fare for 16 bit, even if I know they merely published it. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{spoiler}I mean, you climb the Tower of Babel to get to heaven, confront God to get back your ability to speak to humans, and have to use time travel to end the cycle of violence and intolerance between humans and monsters.

That said, now that they ARE the same company, they should have the rights to the translation now.

I just had a thought: What if Sega released some games on the console that were Sega Channel exclusives? Stuff like Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Pulseman, Garfield: The Lost Levels... That would be pretty awesome. I couldn’t tell you how addictive Sega Channel was as a kid. I burned a lot of summer vacation hours on stuff like Pulseman and Shadowrun.

This will be the first time it's been officially released in North America since it was available on Sega Channel.
This gives hope for Pulseman.

I wonder if they're going to include Sonic 3...

They're...probably not including Sonic 3, are they? With the weird music rights issues over certain Sonic 3 levels, its not entirely likely, no. It would make for a hell of a final game reveal, but I'd think Sega would be inclined to put it front and center if it was playable.

Forget that; I want Garfield: Caught in the Act with the Lost Levels added. That was also another casualty of the Sega Channel, and an even more egregious example of it given how the stages, in its original forms, have been lost to time. That would be one of the greatest accomplishments.

Let’s hope it’s the Japanese version of The Wily Wars translated and not the PAL version.

I know I'm in the minority, but I wish they would throw the original Bill Walsh College Football on there. If I recall, the only licensing issue would be Bill Walsh as the teams were the college town names and the players were generic. I remember my friend having the Genesis and playing that game for hours. I was a SNES guy and eventually it came to that platform, but not at first.

Spinball has a slower feel than a lot of console pinball games, but it’s still really fun just for the sheer novelty and how you have Sonic solve the puzzles of the levels. (Also, Freedom Fighter cameos in the bonus rounds.)
And every good thing you’ve read about Phantasy Star IV is real, it’s one of my favorite non-FF connected RPGs (that and Trails of Cold Steel, but that’s for another thread).

Man, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle is ass. It's just a slow, awkward slog of a game where way too much focus is put on entirely luck-based rock-paper-scissors bits.

There's load of reasons as to why Sonic took off and Kidd didn't as a Sega mascot, but the sheer disparity in fun between Enchanted Castle and Sonic 1 has to be one of the biggest.

Damn it, Sega Europe (since I assume they're the ones handling the English-language release), do NOT f*** the English release out of having MUSHA...

Japan is getting a brand new port of the original Darius just for the Mega Drive Mini.
Also, the System 16 version (not the original Japanese Mega Drive version) of Tetris is going to be included in the Japanese version as well.
