Well I, for one, absolutely love this show. Honestly, when I saw the schedule the only two episodes I was interested in were the Macho Man/Elizabeth and Screwjob episodes. After watching the Brody episode and knowing little to nothing about the guy or the situation, I'm hooked. I realize there's probably some amount of sensationalism involved, but I hope there's a second season.

Yeah Hall doesn't know what he's talking about. The close up on Vince after the spit and the WCW spelling didn't happen on the air. Both were part of the Wrestling With Shadows doc, if I am remembering correctly.

That’s where that footage is from. The breaking the monitor and tossing the headphones is from that doc too.

As far as I've know Cornette has said publicly before that he pitched "Why don't you put Shamrock in the match so he can shoot on Bret if he doesn't cooperate?" As far I know this the first time he's admitted that the sharpshooter spot was his idea. I don't believe for a minute that Vince Russo came up with the idea.

I know these interviews were taped a while ago. Maybe Cornette revealed it here first and talked about it on his podcast later? They made this out to be some grand reveal here. But then again who knows. Scott Hall still thinks it's a work apparently. It’s possible Cornette mentioned it there first. I’ve heard this series was taped two years ago. Cornette has mentioned having screeners of four of the episodes for a while. Cornette mentioned he came up with the idea on his podcast a while back. Last was his co-host at the time so it was said in the past two years or so. Maybe he went ahead and said it on the podcast because he knew it was going to come out anyway. Idk.

Just watched the Brody episode.
There is a special place in hell for you, Jose Gonzalez.
Dutch and Tony's parts were great to listen to. Tony's and Barbara's interviews were tough to listen to, emotionally.
And I agree with others' sentiments on Abdullah's part. It didn't really feel like it belonged on this.
Also, the little bit of Carlos' interview just made me think he was in on the whole murder. I lost a lot of respect for the Colons after that.

Brody’s son at the end implies that he wants to kill Gonzalez. Honestly......I don't blame him.

He’s said some outrageous stuff on his podcast but I’d never heard that one before. Cornette is just too much fun sometimes.

Somehow the episode on the Montreal Screwjob has turned into Cornette vs. Russo. Corny has now admitted that he came up with the idea to screw Bret. but now Russo says that he came up with it... I think it’s a function of several people working independently of each other. Triple H has claimed credit, Russo has since it happened. Foley even admonished him that night before learning Russo had no idea. Corny is taking credit. I’m positive Patterson suggested the Sharpshooter spot and they realized that was the time. They knew not to tell Patterson because he’d have let Bret know.

Even though much of the info isn't new for long time fans, the docs are very well done, and the footage and clips are really top notch.

Not sure if anyone else had this issue, but it absolutely refuses to stream to my TV. If I just try sending it I get an error and if I screen mirror, the image freezes on the TV, the sound works but it’ll keep playing on my phone.

Then when Cornette saw the spot happening the next night he realized they were doing it and that's when he ran out of the arena because he thought he'd get his ass kicked.

Wow this series is great. I really love the production values that go into it; the spoiled VHS look when they roll old footage, the stylized re-enactments of events, I don't really even care how accurate the stories are, it's really fun to watch. Cornette was amazing on the Bret episode.
I kind of figured I'd heard all I needed to hear about the Screwjob, but having Bret describe the events, providing play by play to the actual events really puts in perspective what a crazy scene that must have been. I feel like this production team could retell the story of the Dolph Ziggler/Kofi Kingston rivalry and make it compelling.
The Russo/Cornette stuff was entertaining but it's kind of annoying to see anyone give Russo any attention anymore.

Hebner not getting enough attention, now claims Montreal was a work and he’s done lying for Bret.

Jim went into more detail on the JCE this week. Basically he and Russo were at Vince's house and the went down a flight of fancy about a screwjob finish after Cornette told McMahon that his idea for a screwjob finish (Shawn clinches up on a pin) would lead to Bret kicking out and beating the shit out of him. So Vince asked what he would do and he thought of the story he told on the show before saying that Shawn should beat Bret with the sharpshooter. However the whole idea was that you could get the belt on Shawn that way without letting the fans know something was up. Instead Vince almost went out of his way to show that what was happening wasn't supposed to happen. So in the ultimate irony someone who has been all about protecting the business came up with the finish that exposed it more than almost any thing else ever did.

They knew not to tell Patterson because he’d have let Bret know. Yeah, Patterson has claimed he had no idea it was going to happen, and that he was furious too, as he was the agent for the match. I think Bret and Shawn had done the Sharpshooter reversal spot before and, to give Shawn credit, his acting there was pretty solid. He even feeds Bret his foot for the reversal, then looks genuinely confused as the bell rings. The most complete version I've heard is that five people knew it was going to happen - Vince, Gerald Brisco, Shawn, Hunter and Earl Hebner. Cornette and Russo may have been involved in some discussions about what to do about the situation, but I think that's about it.
