Well, this is do or die on making a booking shift with Goto: when he had his hair vs. hair match with Suzuki at WK I was cheering for Suzuki to win so that Goto would have to confront facing rock bottom, to force him in a new direction. He won that and kept the NEVER scene steady for awhile longer, instead. Now, after speaking about having a new lease on life, he's come up short in round one of "his" tournament, the NJ Cup, he's been insulted across the board by White, and now he's come up short against White, albeit with some Gedo involvement. With the still thread of "is CHAOS going to fall apart?" still lingering, this potentially sets the stage for a change...or to cement him into a fallen position, because there's nowhere else to go now that he's at rock bottom.
Next interesting booking opportunity to me is Ishii vs. EVIL. I'm figuring EVIL wins there, but I'm curious if there's any chance of a booking turn for Ishii stemming from that, too, with regards to any movement in CHAOS as we head toward Dominion. I'm more doubtful on that front, but I'll be interested.

You could go either way with White/Goto because the “White’s fall from grace” plot or a potential Goto turn (which would freshen him up) are both valid angles. As much as I adore Ishii, I’d bet on EVIL here as he’s the younger talent between them that NJPW’s likely getting behind. That’s the same reason why I’m leaning towards a White win as they seem very future-minded lately.

Well, this is do or die on making a booking shift with Goto Happened a good while ago tbh. If they wanted to do it when he had more momentum behind him, absolutely, should've done it at the latest after New Beginning 2016. But with the guy turning 40 this year and them doing this story again, my point is more that this is really the final chance - either he undergoes some kind of shift as a fallout from this loss (plus the first round NJ Cup loss), or he's permanently stuck in a higher-card YOSHI HASHI spot. When they blew that chance after NB2016 and had him join CHAOS instead he still at least had enough going for him to put over Naito and Omega that year in the major tournament finals to cement their "new big 4" spots, but that won't be there this time if they don't pull the trigger on some kind of legitimate change. Just going by how much more spry Goto's looked in his recent matches the past couple of tours I feel like they might've told him "Yeah, we've finally got something for you", but Goto fandom means suffering...wait, do I cheer Goto because I'm a Mets fan? Christ, that'd explain a lot. As for Ishii, oh yeah, my money is definitely on EVIL for that match since I think we'll be seeing Okada go through LIJ one more time to set up a WK rematch with Naito, but I mean more like "is this the last time Ishii will serve as Okada's guard dog?" It still feels like they had Okada face so many CHAOS members during the NJ Cup for a reason, so I'm spitballing that it'll eventually tie into that.

Would not surprise me if Ishimori regains the title since Lee is so focused on Hiromu

I’ve not read through the thread so apologies if this has already been brought up. Also, I’m. It sure how much information the English commentators get from the office, but are they pushing the fact that Sanada has never been Okada a bit TOO hard?? They wouldn’t put the title on Sanada would they if he’s not properly signed??

Sanada's a freelancer so until he signs a contract with them like Ibushi finally did, they won't seriously give him a singles run
