Keep dreaming Pender, you're never getting the right to Sonic again. I remember a while ago, he wanted to sue SEGA so he can make them give him the rights to uses Knuckles in his recolor fanfic.

The squirrel is actually the original/canon Sally Acorn, the princess we know is the very loosely adaptation of said squirrel.

YouTuber PatMac recently discussed cancelled/hypothetical Sonic movie ideas, and showed off what Ken wanted to do; Sonic Apocalypse. You know... THAT movie where he showed off a scene where Snivley was doing a vivisection/robotication?

That is not how copywright works, you idiot. Just because they're not actively using assets right now doesn't mean they suddenly stop owning them. By that logic, stuff like Animaniacs and Street Sharks should be public domain. But they're not, because someone has paid money to file and maintain a copywright. You are a comic book writer. The company essentially loaned you the use of their intellectual property for as long as you were under their employ. Any character you created while under contract with them belongs to them. Any storyline you wrote belongs to them. YOU DO NOT OWN JACK SHIT, YOU PRETEEN CARTOON ANIMAL LOVING WEIRDO.

This would be like Gail Simone stating she owns the rights to Barbara Gordon, Huntress, Black Canary, and the Queen of Fables. Because she wrote comics about them. Granted, Gail did create the Queen, but still DC owns her as the contract she signed stated as much. Gail can't just start writing and publishing books about the Queen of Fables just because DC isn't.

Ken owns some of the characters he made at Archie due to some legal bullshit where Archie seemingly misplaced some documentation, if I recall right, letting Ken lay claim to it.
Given his behavior since, if it turned out he outright just stole and shredded said documentation, I would be remotely surprised.
That said, he doesn't own anything valuable, it was just some of his echidna characters, if I recall.

I wouldn't go that far, Archie have been a clusterbleep of a company for the longest time, with Sega not much better, so there's a chance the paperwork never existed at all. As far as I'm aware, no other former Archie sonic writer or artist have said they signed work for hire papers and that's pretty telling, heck, Scott Fulop sued for the same reason Penders did.

I don't recall the vivisection part, but I do remember the concept art for robotization in the movie pitch being particularly nasty looking.

Dont forget that it was originally Ben Hurst, a writer for the Sonic SatAM, who wanted to make a movie to tie up the cliffhanger from the series before Ken Penders got involved and screw Hurst out of it so Penders could do his Sonic Apocalypse idea.

I do remember reading somewhere that they had planned on killing off Sally during Operation: Endgame, but the backlash caused them to change the ending.
If I remember correctly, after Sonic no. 50, Sally was gonna start acting weird, leading to her and Sonic to break up. Then Dr. Quack was going to reveal that the Sally they know now is actually a robot duplicate, and that the real Sally died from her injuries from the fall in Sonic no. 47.
And then 94 issues later, they had Sonic and Sally break up anyways after his return from space. That still pisses me off.
