The really sad thing, speaking from family experience, is that it might not even be from the wrestling. It's a low chance, but some people start developing the symptoms in their 40s. It's a horrible, heartbreaking thing that can just ravage a family, but it can happen.

This really sucks for Vampiro. Alzheimer's is an evil disease and I hate to see anyone, or their families and loved ones, go through it.

I work with people with Alzheimer's daily and it is a horrible thing to happen to anybody, especially early onset.
Best of luck to Vampiro in the future, he was an inspiration to me when I was a 14 year old goth kid.

Alzheimer's is literally my biggest fear as it feeds into not being in control of your own brain, or even worse... becoming a prisoner of it.
And the worst thing is, you can't hope for a recovery, you can only hope the process is as slow as possible so he can retain as much of himself for as long as possible.

As someone who watched his grandfather's memory wither away bit by bit over the years to the point he was basically child like and didn't make a sound a few years after he forgot everyone's names (mine and my cousin's were the last he remembered) due to Alzheimer's, yeah I feel for the guy. I still think he was a meh wrestler with a terrible facepaint, but Alzheimer's one of those things I wouldn't wish on anyone. It will be really tough on him and even more on his family.

I hope that it's early, and also that medical advancements may be able to help him.

My grandfather had Alzheimer’s and it was the saddest thing I have ever witnessed. Positive vibes to Vampiro.

And he never had a hard hitting style of wrestling, what happened? His life outside the ring had some pretty nasty patches throughout it, so that might have contributed.

I’ve seen it hit early in a family member due to long term alcohol use / abuse. It’s really sad stuff. I hope Vampiro has good people in his life to help care for him and support him. I wish him all the best.

Well when you think about his career, he taken a lot of nasty bumps and did a lot of drugs over the years. The guy wasn't the most clean living guy in the world and while he in ring style wasn't crazy. The bumps he took where and I'm sure had several concussions.

Depending on whethere you believe his words or not but from the interviews he has given the dude lived a very so to speak not smart life...drugs to dealing with cults and ending up in prison in foriegn countries.
And considering how deep he was into music being the body guard to milli vanilli during a time in hollywood when drug use was argueably at it's most rampant.
I would not doubt some of it has sadly lead to this.
