Discussion came up in the Smackdown Live thread and several titles were thrown out, so let's get everyone's opinion.
Personally, I'm going with Catwoman. You know: the one that had so little to do with Catwoman that the character wasn't even Selena Kyle, and was basically just an excuse to dress Halle Berry in tight pants and a bustier?
And if it was just supposed to be a completely unrelated character who just happened to share the same name as the DC Catwoman, it still wouldn't have made the movie any better, because everything about the movie was terrible. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another big budget superhero movie that was less faithful to its source material than this one. Even in the DCEU, at least Superman was still named Clark Kent.

What about the mockbusters like Amazing Bulk or that weird Russian Avengers film?

I think in terms of notable, mainstream stuff actually adapting DC or Marvel (since really, those are what count enough to deserve the distinction) it's pretty hard to beat Catwoman. Terrible movie in its own right and it doesn't get one single element of its source material right.

Terrible movie in its own right and it doesn't get one single element of its source material right. Yeah, Catwoman is the biggest failure of a Superhero movie. Sure there are adaptions that suck like all of the Fantastic Four films but Catwoman is the biggest failure in terms of not only doing nothing with the comics but also being garbage on its own rights.

It's Catwoman. All of the above reasons, and effectively ended Halle Berry's career as an A-list lead.

Making it worse is the timing of it. A Catwoman in Name Only film is bad regardless but it might have been something left in the dustbin of history if had been some low budget B movie from the 70s or 80s where could comic book films that completely disregard the source material would have been typical. But this was 2004; after the likes of X-Men and Spider-Man, a year before Batman Begins. Even casual film goers had some concept of Catwoman, even if it was something like Batman Returns or Batman: TAS. The Halle Berry film was not only awful, it also was so embarrassingly unconcerned with even a surface level respect to the character it was supposedly based on. Heck the Super Mario Bros movie warped the entire concept, but at least they had the likes of Bob-omb and Yoshi here and there.

With effort:
Thor Ragnarok and Iron Man 3. Movies that decided to say "F*** it, we want to have fun."
Without effort: Eh, probably Vampirella.

If we're talking on a technical/narrative/quality level as an actual movie, has to be 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.'

I’d say it’s Catwoman as it’s just so painful to sit through. At least Batman and Robin is kind of goofy and enjoyable in that sense.

I've not seen catwoman, thankfully. My first thought was Spiderman 3, due to how bad it is compared to the excellent Spiderman 2.

I feel like I'm the one guy on the planet who doesn't even think Spider-Man 3 is the worst of the Raimi movies. Not that it's GOOD, by any stretch of the imagination, but at least it has some semblance of plot cohesion instead of basically just being a bunch of skits like the first one. ... Granted I know the first one is basically just using the Burton Batman as a template and I love that movie but I dunno, it works for me in one and not the other.

Catwoman, Superman III and IV, Superman Returns, X-Men 3: The Last Stand, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine are all really repulsive.

It’s at least good for an ironic laugh with the “bad” Peter Parker bits.

Anybody alive actually watch Electra and can weigh in on it? Saw it in theaters, worst thing about it is the score. Otherwise, I recall it being passable. Not as bad as, say, the Fantastic Four sequel that came out two years later.
