Then it’s probably that. Bret has used the same theme since the late 80’s but it’s undergone remixes and rewriting but it’s really the same song. Sidenote: they brought back the original Hart Foundation theme at the HOF ceremony this year, which was an insanely great touch and I guess is now the Hart Foundation theme rather than Bret's.

When did the Freebirds start using Badstreet USA? Hayes had used that song for years through multiple promotions. Speaking of guys that used the same theme across promotions, R-Truth has been using, What's Up, since he was in TNA since 2006. That's a 13 year run across 2 companies! Both very impressive stats IMO.

Yeah I forgot about the one from the WWE Originals album before switching back to his regular theme. Nah, there was a period in 2003 where everyone seemed to have lost any licensed music and went by whatever off-brand instrumental Johnston cooked up in about 10 minutes with a synthesizer. Is that why RVD has his old Walk ripoff in Here Comes The Pain?

Someone who SHOULDN'T have had the same music a couple weeks ago was Kurt Angle. Literally zero justification, if he was going to be a babyface during his retirement match, to have him continue to use the song that encouraged everyone to yell "you suck." That they didn't change it a few weeks earlier was a ridiculous oversight. It was endearing. That's Kurt's connection to the fans, has been for years. I think he got the chant started when he went into the Hall of Fame too. Ok, am I thinking of somebody else, or did Angle get new music for like literally one night back in 2000 or something? I remember the music starting and wondering, "Who is this?" Then Angle came out, and thinking, "This doesn't fit him at all." Then the next show, he was back to his original music. Anybody else remember that?

It's been off and on and remixed who knows how many times but one form or another of Undertakers theme. It's been on TV for almost 29 years now. Well there was 2000-2004 when he was ABA.

Are you thinking of when Angle was put in WWECW and they gave him a different version of his theme song? It was technically the same song, except it sounded like they sloppily cut out the "You suck" parts. So I don't know if you'd count it or not. Had he not had that pause (and longer when he went to TNA), you could have added two more years to this theme, as it was Patriot's, then various other patriotic wrestlers in the WWF. How old is "Here Comes The Money"? 18 years or so? There's been remixes and remakes, but The Rock theme has been in constant use since 1999 at the latest.

"No Chance In Hell" is getting up there, having debuted as the theme for the 1999 Royal Rumble and transitioning after his win of that match to Vince McMahon. Save for the one night he came out to "Obsession" to do commentary with Ventura on Raw, he's kept it since.

That they didn't change it a few weeks earlier was a ridiculous oversight. It's basically just an act of love at this point. Hell, it even happened when he went into the Hall of Fame. Doesn't really help the only other songs he has are the guitar version, which is probably his best theme but it'd just confuse people and still allows for the You Suck chants anyway, and the horrendous ECW remix.

I think Kurt even still had hair. I can't even think of how it sounded, but the music did not last long at all. It might have been on SmackDown, because I read spoilers, and somebody posted that "Angle comes out to new music, and it's terrible." or something like that. It made me watch SmackDown to hear it.

I thought about that too. Even if you discount those four years that's still 25 years of basically the exact same theme on TV.

You are talking about the very shortlived buttrock version of Kurt's theme he had for a handful of shows in 2001. youtu.be/J_s_-F28D6A

"Sexy Boy" for Shawn Michaels has got to be up there. He started using the version that he sings himself in 1992, if I remember correctly. He has used that song since, except for brief times when he came out to the DX music. He has grown from the Heartbreak Kid to the Heartbreak Man to the Heartbreak Legend to the Heartbreak Family Man and some day, the Heartbreak Grandpa. He'll still be coming out to "Sexy Boy." He used the Sherri version from early 92, and then switched to his own version later that year I think. But its essentially the same song.

Here Comes the Money was either Backlash or Judgement Day 2001. It debuted on PPV, he definitely still used No Chance at WM X-Seven and definitely had Here Comes the Money by King of the Ring. As for the Kurt “You Suck” thing, I believe it was when he had came back after the 2003 neck surgery when he started encouraging it. He cut a heart filled promo about worrying about not getting to wrestle again and how he even missed the fans chanting “You Suck” at him. And they’ve chanted it at face Kurt ever since.

All this has me thinking: Jim Johnston for Hall of Fame yesterday!!
His speech can be him on stage with a guitar playing riffs while riffing.
