So James Cameron acknowledged Endgame beating Titanic as one of the highest grossing movies ever...
by tweeting a picture of a ship crashing into an Avengers logo as a congratulations.
You know, the film based on a real life tragedy that killed thousands of people.

James Cameron has never been a tactful man.

James Cameron has never been a tactful man. No, absolutely, he has a history of saying utter nonsense in interviews. But...again...actual real people actually died, James.

Did they die? I thought the Titanic was saved by a giant octopus.

See I always thought the Titanic came back to life as a roaring monster.

Did they die? I thought the Titanic was saved by a giant octopus. It got to where it was going eventually. It's worth noting Cameron has never shown all that much respect for the Titanic. In 1995 his sub expedition caused a ton of damage to the wreck: - Wrenching off the Marconi Room skylight. - Tearing down the outer bulkhead of E.J. Smith's cabin. - Attempting to descend into the Grand Staircase with a whole Mir, which resulted in pieces of the prop and related materials spewed all over the place when the Mir failed to fit. None of this was reported by the expedition and wasn't discovered until the next team arrived to visit the wreck in 1996.

There was no respect for the actual dead in his film.

Under $500 million to go to beat Avatar. Yesterday's totals haven't come in yet so it'll probably have about $90 million more of that domestically by the end of the weekend.

I'd say there's no way it beats it but who knows. I believe it's at $494 million, deduct maybe $24 million for tonight and last night, and another $90 million this weekend and you're still looking at $380-ish million to go. IDK....

For what it's worth from some digging quite a lot of markets don't seem to have reported anything but their opening weekend yet - Box Office Mojo has Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and Venezuela's totals all listed at 100% from their opening weekend. Some of those are some fairly big markets, and as they report in more it'll probably shoot the number up quite a bit.

I mean it made it to 2 billion dollars in less time as Avatar made it to 1. 90 million for it's 3rd weekend is still 30 million MORE than Avatar made in it's 3rd weekend. I'm not going to say it keeps the momentum but it's still a massive possibility.

If they're within 200-250 million by the end of the weekend, yeah I think it's got a shot.

Maybe Mr. Cameron should spend time directing his big blue cat people movie instead of begging for "Avengers fatigue" and shitting on Wonder Woman.
