Even as a little kid, I thought some moments from Batman 1989 were a bit much for me to handle, and I was able to handle most of the movie. I remember having to leave the room when the camera went to the clown balloon when it started emitting the gas. That was a creepy sight.
Batman Returns, however, was a different story. Certain parts made me feel weird, like Penguin biting that guy's nose.

Arachnophobia. I know it's more of a dark comedy, especially when John Goodman shows up. But having a real fear of spiders, and seeing how big and terrifying they can be...ugh.
I've seen it a hundred times, but every time a spiders pops up, I get chills. I am like Jeff Daniels in the movie, I freeze when I see a spider.

There's been a lot of films that have frightened me throughout the years. The one horror film that legitimately scared me upon my first viewing was the 1978 Halloween.
My mom told me for it's time it was literally one of the scariest films ever made, in fact, my dad took her to watch it on their first date. I had watched "Friday The 13th", "Child's Play", and even some "Nightmare on Elm Street" films prior. It wasn't until I watched "Halloween" that I truly felt horrified by the idea of this force of nature being the personification of evil. The music, Michael stalking Laurie, and Loomis describing his meeting of Michael just made me feel so uneasy and scared to sleep at night.

Seeing Shreck's corpse really bothered me in the sequel, then Penguin's death scene (though I may have been shook up from seeing the aforementioned corpse just before) Even Riddler's defeat in Forever was kind of weird, as Carrey was all melty-faced when he said "Why can't I kill you?"

I don’t know if “scared” is the right word, but there were two moments in the 1990 TMNT film that were very hard for me to watch when I was young: First, when the Foot Clan ambushed Raphael. Like many young Turtles fans, I grew up with the cartoon and was unaware of the series’ darker comic-book origins. Sure, the Turtles would usually get into some predicament in each episode, but it was usually resolved in a few minutes and they were cracking jokes and eating pizza in the end. There was nothing funny about what happened to Raph, despite the attempts to lighten the mood during the brawl in April’s apartment. Second, when Tatsu completely lost it and beat the shit out of the young Foot Clan member. Again, this wasn’t the TMNT I was used to. Shredder's death. Especially when the dirt on the hydraulics of the garbage truck looked like blood.

Raiders of the Lost Ark The Ark gets opened. The faces melting didn’t bother me, it was when The Angel’s face changes to a face of death. Still sends a shiver down my spine just thinking about it. How the f*** is this film a PG?

The ending of Sleepaway Camp is still the biggest jolt a movie has given me. That it's a standard cheesy 80's slasher up until that point only makes it more effective.

This is gonna sound completely ridiculous but... 50 First Dates.
I was only around 10 but i was absolutely terrified of losing my memory like Drew Barrymore in that film.

How the f*** is this film a PG? Movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark and especially Temple of Doom (along with Gremlins) are why the PG-13 rating was created in 1984. The rating was even Spielberg's idea.

Hereditary. Everything about it. Especially the ending. You should probably avoid The Lords of Salem (2012) then. It might have the same effect.

I think this is one of the dumbest movies ever. This and any movie with a pale Japanese kid. Not scary. But I saw The Ring in college. Me and my roommate's RA's girlfriend worked for a radio station, and she got us advanced screenings to movies. Very cool to see movies like two weeks early. Anyways, this was the first one we went to. Just me and my roommate went. So after watching all this gloomy dark shit happen, and after thinking the movie was about to end twice...it just kept going. So I forget what happened, but it made my roommate say, "Aww...what the f*** is going on?!" in the most annoyed and frustrated voice. Haha. Theater was dead quiet too. Best part of the movie.

I didn't even see this movie, but as a little kid the box/poster art gave me nightmares And then they made us watch it in school and I loved it. Was obsessed with Mozart's laugh. Plus early on, we got to see a bare butt!

“Star 80” with Mariel Hemingway and Eric Roberts to this day I find extremely creepy and unsettling. Eric’s performance is great, but it’s a very very dark story, and Bob Fosse directs it in such a haunting manner.
As a kid, I’d say the first Alien with Dallas inside was the tunnel.
