When I saw Lost In Space (1998) I tried to convince myself that it was a decent Sci-Fi action movie... but I was wrong.

It's so stupid, but yeah, love it, too. Robot's still neat. Though, the armored mask was such an odd choice given Joey uses it like once.

I tried rewatching that movie a couple years ago when it randomly appeared on Netflix. William Hurt was of course good, but the dialogue was awful.
"My wing stands ready!"
Man, who would think a thread on a forum in 2019, would get hijacked with talk about the Lost In Space movie from 1998...

I won't go so far as to say I was in denial or anything, but I want to like Dark Knight Rises much more than I actually like it. There are really damn good scenes, but also a lot of bullshit and stuff the movie didn't need. Like, the financial subplot is a huge sink of time for very little payoff. Like, it gets some of the principle players interacting with Bruce, but that doesn't make it good writing or interesting. You took the words right out of my mouth. I loved "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" so I wanted so badly to see this as great, but I finally had to admit to myself that it wasn't. It has its moments, but it is just too full of editing errors and plot holes to compare to its predecessors.

It's a good cast, the visuals by all rights should probably look worse, but get by alright, and the acting could be a lot worse given the lines they're having to deliver, but yeah, the dialogue blows. I still have a lot of affection for the movie, but I really have to be in the right mood to not just turn it off after a half hour.

Really even the prison stuff serves virtually no purpose beyond, "Bruce climbing out will look really cool." The movie would make substantially more sense if Bruce had wound up having to recuperate while hiding out in some apartment with Selina or something, could've actually developed their relationship a bit and you wouldn't have the gigantic plot hole of how the hell he got back into Gotham.

I could buy that even without the money, he could call in some favors or something, but yeah, I'd have liked that development, even if the chanting in the pit was neat.

Not sure I want Liam Neeson telling me what I should think! You love when Liam Neeson tells you what movies you like. Man, the prequels really were something. I remember Phantom Menace being one of those movies that had to be one of the first that as I was watching it, I was thinking "This...isn't quite right". It might've genuinely helped kick start my brain from just consuming entertainment and instead looking at it with a more critical eye. Doesn't help the film's case I was reaching the age where you start to do that sort of thing. Clones, I remember being so confused by because while I had long since developed the ability to tell a good movie from a bad one, I was in a weird state of denial. "No, I can't be THIS bored. I can't be THIS cringing from this acting. This is STAR WARS! STAR WARS! I love STAR WARS! I must have not slept well or maybe my stomach's acting up?" I remember coming to terms with it finally as the credits started to roll and I left the theater. It was kind of a weird epiphany style moment. Revenge was a funeral dirge for me. I went in not expecting anything good, zero hope, and in a way it subverted my expectations by having at least Palpatine be a hammy ball of amazement for most of the runtime. But in a way my mood was fitting given the subject matter of the film. I remember thinking as I left the theater that Star Wars was done and it died with a whimper instead of thunderous applause.

As far as a flat-out self-denial of me not enjoying something? No.
There are movies I loved in a theater that I can still see some flaws in after rewatching it, but most of the time my overall take will remain the same. I’m generally able to see what made me like it in the first place.
My attitude walking out the theater after Man Of Steel was “eh, it was ok.” I’m better able to contextualize some of the movie’s issues with time, but my take on it is stil “it’s okay.” With Phantom Menace, I loved the action scenes and didn’t care for some of the Jar Jar gags and the boring trade plot, and that’s pretty much how I still feel today.

Promotheus. If I could have just found the last 10 minutes of the movie on Youtube before going to see it in the theaters, it would have saved me some time.

I love the Marvel films, but I just didn't dig Black Panther. It's supposed to be great though, so I rewatch it every once in awhile trying to get into it.

Definitely 'Ghostbusters 2'. The original was (and still is) my favorite movie, and as a kid I was basically obsessed with it.
I hear the sequel is coming out, and I thought my head would explode from excitement. I watched it, and while I don't consider it bad or anything, it just didn't have nearly the charm of the original, but I kept thinking if I watched it again I would like it more, but I never did.

The First hobbit movie, and half of the second. By the third, pure hatred.
Just went through fanboy joy at another entry, to slight confusion, to annoyance, to seething hatred as to how bad it turned out.

He was good in Broadcast News, because it was solid casting. But he always comes across as an awkward jock who is saying their lines after having a concussion. He has no presence or tonal shifts. Yet, people always sing his praises. Yes, I've seen The Accidental Tourist. Hell, in lost in space. His "I love you wife" is practically high school arts credit levels of bad.

Probably "Army of Darkness." I lumped it in with the other two Evil Dead movies, which are still awesome, but Army of Darkness just kinda sucks compared to them.
