That money goes to Brennan Williams and Mansoor. It doesn't go to charity or anything. And Brennan nuked his twitch stream archives and twitter page after last night. This isn't the first time they've gotten in trouble either, so I imagine they are either on very thin ice, or are going to fall through after last night. The first real notable incident I remember (although it didn't get much traction) was them bothering Adam Cole about his (and other workers) intimate lives. They also tried to make Kairi Sane a fixture of the stream by reading erotic fanfiction of her on it (behind her back at that), although that ended fairly quickly because management came down on them for it. Because someone had a viewer request for that, and Mansoor said they weren't allowed to do it anymore because she found out and got really pissed off about it. It feels like those streams are a great way to commit career suicide right now in WWE because it has no filter and it generally exposes the worst in people. I really like Brennan Williams on UUDD, but the more I learn about him, the more I'm kind of side-eyeing him. I've read that he's a bit of a 4chan-style shitposter, and his buddy, Mansoor, is a Trump fan. I haven't watched much of his Twitch, because I hate the Twitch format, and his streams don't seem interesting enough to persevere with it. Livestreaming is definitely a big risk, and one I expect the WWE to crack down on. Because if you accidentally say or do something, you can't edit it out. As you say, it can easily expose the worst in people, and when you're in a business where reputation really matters, it can be incredibly damaging. I watched one of Tyler Breeze's old streams the other day, which had Alexa and EC3 as guests for an impromptu Q&A. The questions were pretty respectful, although Alexa did decline to answer a couple (like who her least favourite opponent was), and I guess that's down to how Breezy runs his stream, and the viewers respecting the boundaries he sets. When done right, it can be a cool way of learning more about your favourite wrestlers, and seeing the backstage friendships they have. When done wrong, it ends up with people in risk of being fired. I'm almost surprised that there was no "Oh, you won't answer, well then, just what exactly do you have to hide, hmmm?" reaction from people in regards to Alexa refusing to answer.

To be fair, when I say she didn't answer, her exact words were something like, "I want to be nice." Then she kind of jokingly said "you already know. If you guys know me, you already know." Either Breeze ignored any other comments about it, or the people watching left it at that.

I believe they also got in hot water when they defended Dijakovic’s weird white nationalist gimmick.

Opening this thread I fully expected the bad word to be " Benoitwrestling".

For comparison sake, Jonah Hill at one point faced this dilemma. He got into an argument with someone one day on the street, the F word slipped out of his mouth, and news media caught wind of it. Once the story broke, Jonah quickly apologized, said it was in the heat of the moment, promised never to do that again, and his career DIDN'T face any long-term damage because of it. How long ago was that, though? People, especially when expressing their feelings on social media or forums or what have you, are going to be a lot more strident in their desire to have a scalp taken now. Precisely because people didn't suffer permanent repercussions even in the recent past. I think most people know (and are varying levels of unhappy about) that this likely isn't a fireable offense under current WWE management. It doesn't mean they have to like that it's not. Only about 2 or so years ago for Jonah Hill. By then the general public definitely were 'woke' to these kind of things so it was definitely a good move for Jonah to apologize publicly.

f***ed up that she said it but at least she's learning. I know that I said some dumb things when I was young so I can't hold this against her. As long as she doesn't say it again she'll be fine.

Okay let me reel this back, I muddied the waters a bit. The 22 year olds question was because I work with young people and 22 year olds are definitely not adults yet. They think they are, sure, but they definitely aren't. In fact I am pretty sure all age groups would say how little they knew when they were younger. Rhea may be legally an adult (although she is barely that in America) but she sure as shit ain't one yet. I was also bullied with the same word - I shouldn't try to control how you want to react to things like this, we all experience life differently even if we go through different things, so I'm sorry for fighting you on it. Think she is an idiot all you want! Sorry if I was a bit defensive with my response, I'm a fan of hers so it's all just a bit disappointing really. I get what you mean about 22 year olds though, god knows I was a dumb 22 year old, I'm a dumb 30 year old now haha. I'm a dumb 41 year old.... you learn as you go and try not repeat the bad things you did before. That's life, IMO! LOL

Get it together and don’t make that same mistake again
A learning experience for her but she apologized and will deal with a little backlash but she should grow and know better from this

I hate the "she's young" excuse. She's 22, not 15, and she's been working in the UK long enough to know that it's a word you don't say so I don't buy the "she's Australian" excuse either. She'll be fine longterm because their top stars, and commentators have said the same (or worse) but hopefully she smartens up. No excusing this behaviour in my opinion. How many 22 year olds do you hang around with? Because they're probably assholes. Most 22 year olds will be. Myself and Madlibs have both said that at age 22 we would say shit like this. Nobody is using it as an excuse, and I haven't read her apology but I am guessing she definitely isn't. Just making observations about why we're not holding it against her. I'm 26 and I'd still slap 22 year old Lilith in the face for being a grade A tool most of the time.

Between the legit-sounding apology and the bizarre circumstances around it, I can't find myself getting too mad about it.
It does feel different to have the word slip out when you're paid to insult someone vs. just being out on the street. Maybe because in the former case you're putting on a kind of a character?
