Sid didn't turn heel there. It would happen later at a press conference where he, Hogan and others attended to see who faced Flair. When Sid wasn't picked, he got mad, tore up something and walked off. That was the actual turn. The presser wasn't Sid's turn either, it actually happened on an episode of SNME 2 weeks after that when Sid and Hogan teamed up against Flair and Taker and Sid refused to tag himself in after Hulk had clotheslined both heels, walking out of the match Yeah, Sid “apologized” to Hulk after the press conference and they teamed together for the SNME match, and that’s where Sid officially turned. The press conference was the beginning of it, and it culminated in that tag match. But for those who didn’t see RR 1992, it is as ridiculous as it sounds. It was so bad even the fans turned on Hogan that night. His popularity was already dropping and doing an overly heel act likely added on to it.

This is the best example of how much people's fandom can blind them on obvious clues. Man there were so many people online, hell, this board that thought Punk turning heel wasn't a heel turn. There were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many excuses man. Shit was silly. I remember Punk himself said that he had to go overboard with his heelness due to the fact that people weren't believing it. These are the same idiots who thought that Punk's pimebomb promo was a face turn. How could it not be when he became more popular because of it?

CM Punk attacking The Rock, despite Lawler calling it a heel turn right away. This is the best example of how much people's fandom can blind them on obvious clues. I remember Punk himself said that he had to go overboard with his heelness due to the fact that people weren't believing it. Eh, I can see the reason to be honest. For me, I just remembered a time when people would attack each other to “send a message” towards a title match, heel or face (the Austin/Rock feud from WM 17 was the best example of this) so outside the Lawler stuff, it didn’t come off that way to me. But that’s just me.

I think it was more, eh, f*** the Rock. At the time, he was a forty year-old man calling his opponent cookiepuss. He was corny and lame while Punk was the most exciting thing in wrestling. I wasn’t a fan of The Rock during his 2011-2013 run. His character was unfunny and played out during this time. I rooted for both Cena and Punk during his feuds with each of them.

Sid eliminating Hogan at Rumble 92. It's every man for himself and Hogan had done similar to his allies over the years, yet Sid was the bad guy somehow. Sid didn't turn heel there. BOGUS!

To play devils advocate on Hogan/Sid, it could be read that what Hogan was really mad about was that Sid cost him an opportunity for revenge against Flair, who was the entire reason he had to win the belt back in the Rumble, and was the one person he was intent on eliminating. Had it come down to the two of them and Sid had won, they probably would have shaken hands and left it at that.

More devil's advocate: Even though Sid was totally within his rights to eliminate Hogan, he does some very heelish shit-talking to him right after the elimination, before Hogan grabs his arm. It definitely was not an "aw, shucks, sorry, buddy" kind of thing.

Speaking of Sid, when he powerbombed Shawn live, people were cheering in the arena! And then when they replayed in on Raw they did a gazillion things to make it seem like it was an Evil act, they made it black and white, put it in slowmo, screwed up with the sound, adding weird sounds, commentators were saying it was a sickening act,etc...

Not the last time the crowd would cheer more for Sid than Michaels too. Clearly it should have been Mr Wrestlemania Sid!

Sid powerbombing HBK multiple times the night after Wrestlemania XI, where Michaels choked in his title match against Diesel and then unfairly blames Sid. HBK gives Sid "the night off", and Sid suffers no fools, and all to a big pop. I guess Sid was already a heel, so maybe this doesn't quite count. This was one of my favorite things ever. Didn't think of it as a heel turn tho.

Yeah, and after that Hogan still offered him a handshake as a token of good sportsmanship, then the big lug trips and falls and has the nerve to blame Hulk!!

The actual real Sid turn was Saturday Nights Main Event, he made up with Hogan after the Press Conference and they teamed against Flair & Taker and Sid walked out and threatened to smash Brutus face in. The previous two were just foreshadowing teases

What are some examples of this? Ryback attacking Cena the night after mania 29 is an example of this I think. I thought it was more of a statement of wanting a title shot Michael Cole’s commentary of that really annoyed me.

I actually agree about Punks heel turn on 2012 being a case of denial. People were so high on Punk as a face main eventer and I know I for one was so tired of Cena being the feature player all the way through Punks reign.
I hung on as long as I could hoping for a tweener role. But in retrospect it's an out and out heel turn.
Also the pipebomb promo wasn't the face turn. Nothing about it even looked like a turn. It looked like an irate wrestler lost his shit on live TV and got his mic cut (remember them cutting to black straight after? Such a well done segment).
They just had the wherewithal to capitalise on the fact that fans took to some of the things he said, realised he had that cool antihero feel to him and they then pitted him against Vince in the contract negotiation. THAT was his face turn.
