How much of a graphical leap will the PS5 and Scarlett be?

Not sure how much you can really do. You could get further and further detail on things like blades of grass, but at some point you have to question if abandoning your previous console is worth it.

Consoles will always be playing catchup to computers ...so the best looking next gen games are probably gonna be where the best looking PC games were like 5yrs ago.

True, but with computers, you have to upgrade graphics cards, so there’s not exactly a seamless transition either.

for Microsoft I expect the hololense to be a thing.
they made a big song and dance about it for a few E3 shows then last year nothing, I think they'll have the next xbox to make use of it.
as much as I hear it said, I dont see either next gen console go full digital download only as the internet still isnt stable enough or fast enough in all areas to do that.

The next big leap in graphics technology advancement is ray tracing, as we're seeing with the Nvidia RTX line of video cards. Apparently the PS5 will have a GPU capable of ray tracing and I'd expect Microsoft to follow suit. Only thing is I'd expect any console with ray tracing tech to be fairly expensive unless the tech becomes a lot cheaper relatively soon. I'd expect both consoles to be more expensive than the PS4 and Xbone were at launch.
Nintendo's a wild card and the Switch is a lot newer than the other systems, so no clue where they go with their next system or when it comes out.
