I saw Jim Carrey's Grinch movie and it was the drizzling shits. I can't even fathom how a movie could be worse than that so I wouldn't watch this if you paid me. It is so much worse than Grinch. Grinch at least had one or two "heh" moments, like him knocking everything off of the table after successfully doing the tablecloth trick. I do not remember a single joke that landed at all in Cat in the Hat, and the obnoxious stuff is considerable more obnoxious.

It's not always obvious, and again, it's a very flawed movie from top to bottom, but there's a teeny spark there. Cat In The Hat is utterly soulless.

Years upon years ago, I used to babysit my ex-sister-in-law's sister's kids. The younger kid absolutely loved this movie and would watch it on a regular basis. I have seen it more times than I ever wanted to and I never want to see it again. Every bad thing is absolutely true. Yeah, I've been there with my nephews wanting to watch the same movie or show over and over again. The worst one was Cars 2 though.

The real problem with this movie more than anything is the lack of any emotional sincerity. Myers doesn’t ever feel like the Cat In The Hat, or even as if he really cares about these kids aside from amusing himself for a few hours. I’ll admit I laughed at the “scream and run” line, but outside of that he’s just kinda doing an uninspired stand up bit with some props. Well, sadly...that is what we got with Mike Myers at this time
