The only thing Bischoff can help is in production, because he already proved he is a failure in creative.(Aces and 8s everyone?) He's also a great on-air character if you don't give him the book, but definitely not a good enough one for them to hire him at this point when their whole thing is basically about being fresh and new.

It'd be such a big win.

They should hire some of the backstage crew from WCW. No, I dont mean any of the writers, I'm talking the production crew who were able to make Nitro look like a professional product that could easily compete with RAW.

Fusient buying WCW was virtually done. WCW having prime-time specials on NBC was virtually done. ECW getting on USA after TNN was virtually done. TNA being sold when they were still considered viable was virtually done.
I'm hopeful that AEW lands a solid deal with WarnerMedia anywhere, but I'm not celebrating until a deal is actually done.

Random thought, but I hope they stick with a 20x20 ring. I always thought that size of ring looks really good on TV.

Cody seems pretty dedicated to bringing WCW back from the dead in the form of AEW...

Do the people at turner still hate wrestling or did Ted turner get some power back? I could some issues if the network is still run by people embarrassed to have it and expecting WWE numbers. The person who wanted wrestling off of Turner is long gone from the company. Now it's about finding programming. Hell it wouldn’t surprise me if many of those decision makers are long retired by now. The Monday Night Wars were a long ass time ago.

So the pitch to advertisers is going to be interesting. I do think the Bucks, Cody and Omega can present themselves and the potential product as different enough from what advertisers think of the traditional pro wrestler to hopefully make it not as toxic as it is seen.

Cables helped with the lucha high spots and since they have so many talents that use springboards, I could see it. Plus they look so much nicer anyway.

AEW hiring Bischoff would probably kill off any interest I have in the company. As much as I love them, I loathe Bischoff that much more. I don't want him anywhere near this venture as even a personality.

The last thing AEW needs is a heel authority figure, which is basically all he's ever done Hey Now To be fair He was sometimes a face authority figure. If they had Bischoff do a limited run onscreen for whatever reason, I'd have him as explicitly not an authority figure but the shyster trying to weasel his way in and playing the nice guy/wannabe Cool Dad figure to try latch onto whats down with the kids. Sorta like Russo in real life but as a gimmick. If you present him as the old timer from failed promotions desperate to be cool again you could possibly have some fun with him as a heel manager and I could see it gelling with Cool Dad Jericho or other insincere douche characters like Cody or MJF. That said, I think he'd be better served offscreen these days in production, or just away from AEW entirely.

"Hello Cody? It's your Aunt Dixie, Dixie Rhodes!"
"I don't have an Aunt Dixie and Rhodes is not our real last name!"
"Uhhh, I'm Brandi's Aunt Dixie then if you'll believe it!"

there's tons of people with sports production experience they don't need to hire the Bischoffs of the world

AEW don't need Authority figures.
Reveal the card before every show. The end.

AEW don't need Authority figures. Reveal the card before every show. The end. I disagree with the lack of need for any. It's helpful to have someone on hand for story issues and for some level of spontaneity at times. That said, keep it to a minimum and mostly have them uninvolved with storylines. About like William Regal is in NXT is the perfect way to do it.
